I cannot recommend Taryn highly enough. During a very stressful legal process involving my children, she was exactly the kind of attorney you hope to have in your corner. Taryn was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and consistently prepared with current, accurate information. Even when facing aggressive and bullying opposing counsel, she remained calm, professional, and completely steady, but also "hits like a hammer" when needed. Several times she confidently corrected opposing counsel and ensured the facts and law were clearly represented.
What I appreciated most was her honesty and guidance. She kindly helped us understand likely outcomes so we could make thoughtful decisions about where to focus our time, energy, and resources. At the same time, when it mattered most, she was absolutely willing to stand firm and advocate strongly for our family.
Her paralegal, Kerry, is also exceptional—organized, responsive, and truly supportive. Together they make an incredible team.
When your children and your most important relationships are involved, having someone who protects them with both professionalism and integrity means everything. I felt a tremendous sense of relief knowing Taryn and Kerry were on our side. I later referred Taryn to help my husband enforce and clarify his divorce decree, and she delivered the same expertise and professionalism. I am deeply grateful for the work she did for our family.

Taryn helped my son so much with his custody of his daughter. She would always get back to him when he had questions within 24 hours or at least let him know when she could get back to him. She worked many hours on his case. She was very knowledgeable about getting custody. He ended up getting full custody of his daughter. I highly recommend Taryn Evans with divorice cases and. Custody disputes.

I retained Taryn Evans to represent me in a high-asset divorce matter in Salt Lake City. Over the course of my case, I paid well over $300,000 in attorney’s fees, plus approximately $30,000 in expert fees.
I originally hired her at around $225 per hour. My rate was later increased to $375 per hour. While some increases were approved, others were not clearly documented. During my case, she changed law firms and eventually opened her own firm with a partner. When I later requested copies of my original contracts, invoices, and a full accounting of what I had paid, I was told those records were unavailable due to firm transitions. Given the amount paid, the lack of billing transparency was extremely concerning.
My case involved substantial marital assets, including paid-off real estate and business interests. The final settlement left me with a minority portion of the estate, no alimony after 11 years as a faithful stay-at-home mother, 50% responsibility for the children’s medical expenses, and 40% parent-time. My attorney fees and retroactive child support were reserved for trial and ultimately were not reimbursed.
Financial documents were emailed to me late the night before an early morning judicial settlement conference. I did not see them beforehand, and no financial summaries were reviewed with me during settlement discussions. I did not receive written projections, a cost-benefit analysis of trial versus settlement, or a clear strategic recommendation. I did not observe meaningful negotiation on my behalf at the judicial settlement conference.
Additionally, during prior mediation, a 60/40 offer was presented and mediation was ended without fully consulting me about whether I wanted to continue negotiating.
Six months after settlement, I had to retain new counsel because payment deadlines were not met and I continued incurring additional expenses. This resulted in further legal fees to pursue compliance.
This was a life-altering case involving my children and long-term financial stability. In my experience, I did not receive the transparency, documentation, or strategic advocacy I expected—especially given the substantial fees paid. I encourage anyone considering representation in a complex divorce matter to obtain multiple consultations and ensure financial information and negotiation strategy are clearly reviewed before making final decisions.

Taryn Evans was a pit-bull when it came to my divorce proceedings and custody matters. She helped draft custody terms and language into the original divorce, that I didn't even know I needed but have since relied on- years later. The mediators she has access to are also the best, and helped us to settle things in a way we could both live with at the time of the divorce... and again years later when we had another problem occur in our custody arrangement. Be careful who you have kids with, but if you end up in a situation where you need a good attorney on your side for family matters - call Taryn. Thanks again for everything!
Mrs. Evans served as my divorce attorney and consistently went above and beyond throughout the entire process. She was compassionate and highly attentive to the challenges I was facing, ensuring I felt supported and well taken care of. Mrs. Evans is an excellent listener and communicates with clarity and professionalism. I had complete confidence in her ability to advocate for my best interests and resolve every matter effectively. I highly recommend her without hesitation. My experience with her was professional, respectful, and genuinely caring.
Taryn jumped in to my case midstream dealing with a high conflict ex. She has been great deflecting some of his nonsense and been a great support in all sessions we have had to go in front of the commissioner. Definitely recommend Taryn as a great divorce attorney.
Taryn Evans did in 2 months what 3 other attorneys couldn’t do in 3.5 years.
If you are looking for a divorce attorney in Utah, stop searching.
My 77-year-old mother went through a 3.5-year nightmare trying to finalize her divorce. We dealt with a husband who obstructed everything, a magistrate who wouldn’t enforce the law, and three previous attorneys who were unresponsive, dishonest about fees, and dismissive.
We met Taryn just two months before trial. I was terrified that switching counsel so late would be a mistake, but Taryn immediately put us at ease.
She took on a massive, messy case and got fully up to speed in weeks.
She didn’t just meet the deadlines; she mastered the material.
Her pre-trial brief was so exceptional that the judge actually praised her for it in court.
Because she was so organized and cited the exact case law and statutes needed, the judge used her document as the roadmap for the trial.
The result?
• A trial that took only 57 minutes.
• My mom was granted roughly 75% of the marital assets.
• She recouped every dime her husband tried to hide or take during the process.
• She was awarded full ownership of a family-held acre of land—a rare outcome that Taryn fought to secure.
Taryn is proactive, brilliant, and actually cares. I really felt like she was fighting for her mom. I loved that!
Honestly, she deserves to practice law. The other attorneys should be ashamed, embarrassed, and in good conscience relinquish their licenses and go do something more fitting.
She gave my mother her freedom back. And the money needed to live the rest of her best life! We are grateful beyond measure! We love you! (Just saying 💪)
For more than five years, Taryn Evans has walked beside me through some of the most difficult chapters of my life. What she offered went far beyond legal representation — she provided steadiness, compassion, and a sense of safety when everything felt uncertain.
From the very beginning, Taryn approached my cases with thoughtfulness and genuine care. She never treated my situation as just another file. She listened closely, honored my intentions, and advocated for me in a way that truly reflected my values and what mattered most to me. During an incredibly trying time, having someone in my corner who was both strategic and deeply empathetic made all the difference.
I also cannot say enough about Kerry, who was an absolutely invaluable part of the team. Kerry was organized, responsive, and consistently one step ahead. She was often the steady voice helping coordinate the many moving parts of my cases, and her attention to detail and kindness never went unnoticed. She made a complicated process feel manageable and supported.
Communication from the entire team was exceptional. Every detail of my complex legal matters was thoroughly documented and carefully explained. I was kept informed at every step and never felt left in the dark. The professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine care shown by both Taryn and Kerry set them apart.
Because of their dedication, preparation, and unwavering advocacy, I was extremely successful in multiple cases they handled for me. But beyond the outcomes, I am most grateful for how they made me feel throughout the process: heard, protected, and empowered.
Going though a divorce is very hard for everyone. I'm so glad I found Taryn and her team. Kerry was very supportive and kept me updated though the process. Without saying too much I now have the financial support I need so start the next journey of my life.
When I decided I needed to divorce my wife. I do not want to go onto too many details, and speak badly of my children's mother. Taryn was a God send to deal with. Her and her Staff Carey were awesome. My ex wanted my soul, house, money, car, wanted me in prison and ruined and my dog dead. They were professional, walked me through every aspect. The whole thing was not pleasant, but it became managable, because they helped me. I now have my children,(rare for a man) and my dog! Would highly recommend, and they didn't break the bank!!!!!
