Bottom Line: Caputo & Van Der Walde, LLP is an outstanding law firm and I would very highly recommend them to all my family and friends needing injury and/or accident legal help. About 1.5 years ago I was involved in a car accident. A driver hit me while I was in my car stopped at a red light. Her car was totaled and mine had a lot of damage due to being hit from the rear and also being pushed into the car in front of me. Within a few days after the accident, the driver’s insurance company began contacting me to settle immediately for a nominal sum. However, I was experiencing back pain and indeed, ended up requiring major back surgery. About 3 weeks after the accident I contacted Caputo & Van Der Walde, LLP (referred to me by a “friend of a friend”) as I was concerned about the medical costs. From the very start, Paul Caputo, and his team, Shawn Smith and Corene Abrego, treated me with professionalism, respect, kindness, compassion, generosity, and humor. They skillfully guided me through the litigation process and immediately earned my trust, which helped reduce the stress involved in the decision making steps. They were so approachable, making me feel comfortable asking every question I could think of, always promptly corresponding via phone, email, and/or text. I was referred to Caputo & Van Der Walde as I was in an unfortunate accident at the beginning of 2024 leaving me with a permanent injury. Kathryn was super helpful in the beginning and was able to explain everything simply to me so that I completely understood what was going on throughout the process. Paul ended up taking over my case and was extremely diligent in ensuring my case was handled appropriately. He ensured I was copied in all conversations with insurance parties and never made me feel like an inconvenience when I had questions when I didn’t understand something.
