I contacted Mr. Clements about a will. Paid him $300 consultation fee to be applied to the total cost of $1500, after a small personal problem I had him put it on hold for a few days. After making a few quick question calls I spoke of a possible divorce. I was instructed to come to the office to sign an agreement and leave a $3000 retainer, which did. While speaking to the receptionist the lawyer came down to go to lunch i'm assuming. He must have heard the conversation and informed me that he does not do divorce, so I asked to have my $3000 retainer returned. After for days of waiting I was informed he was sending a check, which he deducted $1660. $300 office conference fee which was to be applied to the total cost of$1500 for the will, He also deducted $800 for draft estate documents plus another $560 for 2 and 3 minute calls. Today I was asked to give him another $1000 to complete the will. That would bring the price of the will to $2100 and I haven't even seen the draft. I told him if he does make it right and complete the will for the agreed price I will take him to small claims court. I do not recommend this firm.
