We used Mr. Thompson from the original closing of our house and the title work in 2016 over a four year period. The staff were very pleasant and there were no errors in the paperwork. My two concerns: 1.Communication was very poor. We never received updates or needed information unless we were the ones to initiate the conversation. Literally, over 4 years, we never received an uninitiated email or phone call. Made us feel like this wasn’t important. 2.There was an issue with the original home’s title that caused us to put money into escrow. Mr. Thompson was the attorney we paid to close on our house and resolve this issue. The resolution took 4 years. I do believe it was challenging to get it completed as he repeatedly stated he was having paralegals and interns from his office working on it, but every time I called for an update, I would receive some sort of general assurances that they were very close to getting it sorted, they found someone who knew where the information was, etc. 4 years seems a bit excessive. Ultimately, throughout the process, we never felt like this was a priority.

Seth Hill and team were absolutely amazing and always on top of things. They were there every step of the way and provided extensive knowledge into the matters with full transparency.

The firm took me on as a client in May 2025 regarding a misdemeanor traffic ticket and it is still not resolved. Even worse, I stopped hearing from them altogether. My attorney is Alex Fischer, but initially Anna handled all our exchanges and kept me informed in a timely manner. She left the firm sometime in July (which I had to find out from Alex). I last spoke with Alex on the phone in July and there's been no word since then. It's now almost November of 2025, I have received no updates on my case, Alex will not respond to my emails, and their front office cannot find anything on my file. Today I received a notice of failure to comply from the DMV. Not sure why I'm experiencing this, as the firm has glowing reviews, but perhaps a traffic matter is too small in the eyes of real estate attorneys. If someone from this firm is reading this review, please get in touch with me.

The real estate process can be a rather tedious and overwhelming process, but Hill & Fischer takes the anxiety out of it. Mr. Seth, Mr. Alex, Mr. Jon and the rest of his staff treat you like family, never a file folder in his cabinet. When you call they don’t have to try and figure out who you are every time you call. That’s a lot of relief. They know what they’re doing and guide you accordingly in your compliance and making sure the other side is in compliance also AND ON TIME! That’s a biggie for me. I had the privileged honour of occupying both ends of the service spectrum with Hill & Fischer, first as a buyer in 2021 and a seller in 2025. In 2021 we were Florida buyers new to Syracuse and new to New York. We knew nothing! But Hill & Fischer helped us and we were able to experience our NY dream. Now in 2025, as a seller of said home. I’m really glad we didn’t have to reinvent the wheel again because we were familiar, the house was familiar… a match made in heaven. Thanks to their guidance once again. Seriously! The purchase was easy and the sale much easier even with me sending enails on a Sunday and expecting a reply on Monday morning. Imagine my surprise when Mr. Seth responded on Sunday! I remember reading the email thinking … it’s Sunday... But this is Hill & Fischer, not your ordinary real estate attorney. 😊 This is a company of professional integrity for themselves and their clients. So I will never use anyone else. I can never use anyone else. My next upcoming purchase, Hill & Fischer will be my real estate attorney and every time again after that because I know it will be a honest and legal transaction. Seth and the whole team are great to work with. Very knowledgeable. I didn't deal with. Everyone there. But Seth Jon and Alex are very attentive. Never went over a few hours response time. Dealing with a difficult seller attorney, that would wait days to respond. Usually within an hour Seth or the team already had it in my inbox asking me how I wanted to proceed. I will not recommend anyone else, after using them.
