If you're reading and contemplating this, yes, you need a lawyer. I had a catastrophic accident that rendered me disabled, and my social security disability claim was denied twice. There was one problem, even though my claim was valid, unless you speak the language of the system it's going to spit you out. Mr. Marks not only speaks that language but has a working relationship with the adjudicators and offices you'll need to navigate.
