Was not much help with our case and wasn't very nice at all to us as paying clients. I don't feel like we got our money worth with what we paid him and the outcome of what the charges were. My fiancé got the max charge on one of his charges and a 1-year state jail sentence for the other charge with Balfour as our paid lawyer. Not to mention this lawyer also helped my fiancé finalize his divorce in which we needed a DNA test, and he recommended that we go to the LAB in Tyler we went my fiancé paid 500 for court valid DNA testing, the swabs were collected and then we never heard back from the LAB for the results. Apparently, they closed down and threw out our samples, and we never were able to get that refunded. We went to the LAB based off Balfour's recommendation. Of course, Mr. Balfour did nothing to make it right by us after the thousands we had spent for his expertise. He is very rude and talks down to you like you are ignorant. The only plus side with his firm would be his staff Karina is amazing and sweet and much easier to talk to and will try her best to get you answers from Mr. Balfour. My suggestion would be to seek counsel elsewhere.

Do not hire this guys . He's a liar. This man called me the night before my child custody court date saying he wasn't gonna be able to show up to court after I done paid this man. Do not hire this Guy. He's unorganized and left me and my family hanging . The day I drove a hour to hire him he told me to my face that he didn't have anything on his schedule the day of my court date and the day of my court date he didn't show saying he had a trial and he cant make it to represent me that day. Look somewhere else don't hire this guy .

It’s important to know how this lawyer treats clients that he feels has no true voice. It feels as though he’s a money-grabbing lawyer. He takes up cases and reassures you that he’ll win. Of course that can never be certain but the issue is that after he takes your hard-earned money, he begins to bread crumb you. He simply doesn’t do the work to best standards. 1 - After 6 months of being acquainted with the client and receiving full payment, Joseph arrived at court and asked the client how many children she has. Surely, this is information he should have known being that it was a family court case! 2 - The client was unaware that she had a hearing at 9:30am on one particular day. Joseph notified his client 4 hours later that he went to court (via TEXT Message). It’s so bad that even the person she is suing gave her info about the hearing before her actual lawyer did. This is my go to and the lawyer for my entire family. i don't care if its criminal, family law, or estate issues. He has handles them all. he is easy to contact and will either answer promptly or call you back quickly. He is honest and will do his best.
