I hired this firm and they were upfront and delivered as promised

I thought I had written a review previously but I don’t see it here for some reason. I came to update my previous review. Ken represented me for my case 2 years ago. I wasn’t completely satisfied with my results based on talking to others who went through the same thing and got much better results. But I was happy it was over and it could have been much worse. But it was a bumpy road. He made me contact the DMV myself multiple times even after they told me they cannot speak to me if I have representation. Come the day of my court date, he told me to meet him at one courthouse and he arrived late and then it turned out it was the wrong courthouse. Made me run across the street to the other courthouse and that one wasn’t right either and said we needed to go back to the original courthouse. Again, not right. Turns out we needed to be at a courthouse in a whole different city. Arrived incredibly late. Wrapped up at court and I felt pretty confused about what I was supposed to do next. I felt very rushed by ken and not informed about anything at all. Despite all of this, over a month ago I sought his help again with another case, related to the first. He answered my call and said we would take care of it and told me to call him the following day at noon to discuss. I called, he didn’t answer. I sent a text asking him to just call me when he could. He read it, no reply. I texted again the following day. Read, no reply. Texted again earlier this week. Read, no reply. At this point it had been over a month so I sought other counsel. I met with another attorney yesterday and then today that attorney called me to tell me he got my case completely dismissed. Had I waited longer for ken to get back to me, I’d be in a very different position than I am now.

I feel compelled to warn everyone to steer clear of Ken Moyal! This so-called attorney charged us $13,000, and here’s what he actually accomplished: 1. We first met him in 2024, where he requested $6,000 upfront. 2. He attended the initial hearing, which lasted barely two hours. The petitioner asked the judge for an immediate decision, and the outcome was a split ruling—50/50 custody—because both parents needed to be involved. That two hours cost us 6k! Let’s pretend travel was 2 additional hours: 4 total hours cost us = $6,000! 3. He then requested an additional $7,000. He was present for the contempt hearing over ZOOM, but since the respondent hadn't been served, the case should have been dismissed. Ken failed to mention this to the judge. We ended up reaching a quick agreement, and the hearing lasted just 30 minutes. 4. Ken canceled our next hearing, claiming he had COVID, and reacted unprofessionally by yelling and cussing at the respondent over the phone and hanging up on him like a child. (there is a security camera with this recording) 5. He appeared in court over zoom for only 30 minutes to tell the judge he was unwell and to reschedule the hearing for August 18th, 2025. 6. Just two days before the rescheduled hearing, he called us to say our retainer had run out! The 7k! WTH Is he serious? This is unacceptable behavior for a legal professional! 13k? Ken Moyal - You asked for an honest review. Here it is!! Shame on you!!

My family and I are very grateful to have found Ken. He has represented me with custody and support cases. This man is straight to the point and all about protecting his clients rights. If you are looking for a very versed lawyer, I highly recommend Ken Moyal.
