The Oak Crest Law Group team made our trust and estate planning smooth and achievable. I've been thinking about doing this and I thought this is a process for older folks not younger couples, lol. It also seemed like an overwhelming task but if you have any assets or kids, that's reason enough to do this. It's a lot of paperwork and you have homework to do along the process. However, everyone on staff is so helpful and available via phone, zoom, email and in-person. I liked all the reminders we received for each meeting. They break up the process into a few short meetings and you accomplish different tasks after each meeting. They check in with you before and after the meeting. It's truly amazing. You don't get this if you DIY this in legal zoom. In my opinion, something like a will, POA, Advance directive or trust should be done by the experts because it needs to be done right. You need their guidance. For example, when trying to add my trust to my retirement accounts and other entities, there's a bunch of questions that each place wants to know and you just ask the attorneys rather than guessing the best answer. I think if you bite the dust, your beneficiaries will be grateful you did it correctly. Its enough for them to deal with so why risk it. Yes, it will cost a pretty penny but it's worth it, imo. The entire process took my husband and I about 4 months to complete, but that was our choice as we had holidays and planned vacations out of town. They worked with our busy schedule. They're very accommodating. You can do the entire process from your couch lol, via zoom or phone calls. You don't have to drive to their office in Westlake Village. We wanted to see the office but you don't have to. I'm sure it can get done faster. I guess it depends on how many assets/accounts you have because you will have to update the beneficiary/ contingent beneficiary for each. However, knowing that I can just ask Maryjane questions (and she answers quickly) gives me peace of mind. I'd recommend this place to my family and friends.
