While I certainly don't know about every employee of this firm, I will say that they seem to primarily or heavily do work in in trust and estate planning. If you're looking for someone to take care of you and your money and ensure that you leave a legacy to your descendants, run - don't walk - to any other firm. When my grandmother was in the hospital on her deathbed, 80 years old and dying of cancer, on so much medication that she probably had no idea what was happening, a lawyer from this firm was literally at her bedside, pushing a pen into her hand, pressuring her to sign. He convinced her that the best thing to do for her family was to appoint HIM as a trustee on all the accounts. Yes, you read that right! For nearly 30 years now, well AFTER he retired. As a matter of fact, he has been controlling the accounts, essentially putting our family through a situation like Britney Spears was in - needing to get approval for anything they wanted to spend money on - with money that should have been theirs. Badgering my poor elderly mother when she asked for funds (from HER own account) for a new car to the point where she just gave up. (Hers was 20 or more years old at the time.) For some outrageous reason, Porter Wright allowed this lawyer to hand pick a few accounts and hold onto them as the trustee, even years after he retired and clearly wasn't of sound mind to continue in that capacity. Filed taxes late every year, causing undo fees and stress. Never available to assist with anything when needed, excuse after excuse. "The wheels of justice turn slowly" he'd say. Well, yes, when you refuse to reply to an email or phone call for weeks or months on end, dragging it out for that next quarterly payment and then the next, of course they do! Despicable.
