It all started with a summons, it was a stressful moment. In 2021 I hired this firm cause in August of 2017, Judge Bianco from family court (Visalia) granted my ex wife who id been divorced from since 2014 a 5 year restraining. Judge Bianco labeled them as, Obscene text, that’s why I was in family court, not criminal. The 5 year restraining order caused me to lose my State Department Security Clearance to work at diplomatic outpost, loosing a 6 figure career. Judge Bianco ordered me to a 52 week BATTERS program and to complete 10 INDIVIDUAL counseling sessions, and verbally stated to come back to court once I have that completed. I completed these task in late 2019, but didn’t go back to court till 2021 cause I didn’t wanna go back without representation. We submitted the completed task, they said no, they wanted a letter of confirmation for the 10 individual counseling sessions and the printed out schedule from the VA wasn’t good enough. I did anger management even though it wasn’t court ordered. By this time we got a new Judge, Judge Wolfe. So then I did the 10 additional plus individual counselings and I got the letter of completion from the VA, and then went back to court in 2022, she ordered me to do a court ordered Phycological evaluation. I thought I was protected under hippa cause Wolfe wanted to go through my medical records and I asked Scott Lyons during the proceedings but he would always make a hand gesture as if he was shoeing away a fly and say”just get this done”. Scott Lyons would always say, “it’s all about the money, your ex’s lawyer get paid by the hour”. Also I would NOT meet with Scott Lyons until 30 min before the hearing. In 2023, the psych evaluation report stated I should get some custody, but no, they ordered to do more counseling. Scott Lyons never once tried defending me in the court room, I put my faith in him and that’s my fault for not following my intuition. In august of 2024, we went back to court for a review of the restraining order renewal. I never signed anything or gave my verbal consent, other then agreeing to proceed, I never agreed to a permanent restraining order yet my ex got it. I was deceived for a lack of better term. Charlie, Scott Lyons son said”well they probably went with the severity of the text messages you sent in 2017”, but months before that he said stated” the text messages have been litigated”, lots of contradictory information. Scott wanted to meet up after the hearing, when we should have met before and discuss options. Also, he told my parents and I, that there is noting we can do, that isn’t true at all, I was appalled when I found out threw new firm on what actions we can take. NOT once did I ever get a reason why the “court” made these decisions, Scott never asked for it, you can ask to get it in writing, but that never happened, it was always a mystery and I could NOT ever get a clear answer. Also, every time I’d call the office to ask a question, they always say just email him and he’d get back to you. I printed out all the emails I sent him since 2021, and not once did he ever respond, literally not one. Save your money, you’re better off representing yourself so you can at least ask the judge questions and defend yourself cause he never once stood up for me. My 5 year restraining turned into a permanent, I spent thousands of dollars for only things to become worse. The day I parted ways with Scott Lyons firm, I felt so much stress come off my back. I gave him my faith and was nothing but a yes man, hoping he was gonna have my back, but nope, definitely a learning experience. I’m not upset, and I made that clear when parting ways, everything that I am writing is simply facts. I really wish the court house would just put all of us on lie detectors, would make this all easier, but I nobody wants that. All this cross talk and anecdotal testimony is beyond flawed. I understand what I did was wrong, more then anyone, but I been doing supervised visits since 2017, management of supervised visits never ever seen anything like this. Scott Lyons said there’s nothing we can, he lied with a smile on his face.
