I contracted with Stan Beutler to complete a QDRO in California. He provided me with all the documents and detailed instructions to get the courts approval and file with the third party administrator. The entire process took six months to complete from contacting Mr. Stan to receiving the disposition from PERS. This had been hanging over me for 24 years and now it is resolved. I highly recommend Mr. Stan, we had a verbal conversation where he answered all my questions and also responded to my emails when I had follow up questions.

If I could give a zero I would! Stan gave me such high hopes about helping me and the price was in my budget. I gave him everything he asked for and he dropped me like a hot potato with no reasons! He didn’t even give me a referral; no explanation. I’m wondering if when he heard my voice on the phone, he doesn’t want to help a black woman. I’m reporting him to the Utah bar association for misconduct. My son is a lawyer and he knows how to guide me through this situation. Unfortunately he doesn’t do QDROs.

I live in Alaska & was in the middle of a divorce in 2022. I called around to some law firms & the last document I needed to be finalized was a QDRO for my retirement, a bunch of numbers I didn’t understand looking at it. Most places asked for $7000 for a retainer. I did some research, found Mr. Stan, he was able to give me a guarantee finished QDRO with less than 10% of what Alaskan firms were asking for. Others seem to have had a great experience, so I cannot fathom why I was treated so poorly. I was referred to Stan Beutler by another law firm because I had some serious issues and questions trying to resolve my QDRO. I needed advice on what was going on because there were two 401(K) accounts involved, and if there was any paperwork or forms missing. Mr. Beutler apparently couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. When I told him the QDRO department at my ex's company had approved both QDROs, but they just needed to be signed by a judge—which I was having a hard time getting the court to do—I was curtly told he only drafted QDRO orders. When I tried to ask him if he would at least check the paperwork sent to me or offer advice on a course of action to get this finished (had no issue paying him), he practically hung up on me. I was literally in tears. I went through sheer utter hell, as my divorce and my mother dying unexpectedly were happening at the same time. Mr. Beutler made me feel hopeless and helpless all over again.

I had a terrible divorce; I needed a Vanguard quadro drafted; but I just didn't want to deal with it! I was impressed with all of the positive reviews; but what really sold me was the reassuring tone in his voice and his experience drafting quadros for Vanguard; so I hired him; he only charged $350 so I could afford him. My ex's attorney tried to block the quadro by telling me that it was wrong, and I needed to pay him instead! The judge was not happy with the other attorney's tactics and signed Mr. Beutler's quadro, no problem; it took vanguard about thirty days to process it; and they approved it without any changes; they sent me a letter explaining the tax consequences of my options and I had them mail me a check; many thanks to Mr. Beutler!
