A Warning About The Kent Law Group If I could give a negative star rating, The Kent Law Group would undoubtedly earn it. I urge potential clients to look beyond the glowing reviews and consider the accounts of unprofessional conduct. My experience reveals Mr. Kent to be a bully, whose harassment left me feeling threatened and extremely uncomfortable. Despite my usual reluctance to write reviews, I feel compelled to share my appalling experience to protect others. Unprofessional Conduct and Communication Breakdown I retained Mr. Kent for an automobile accident case. While the initial phase was acceptable, his communication quickly deteriorated. He became abrupt and dismissive, seeming to demand brief, incomplete answers to his questions. When I addressed this, his responses were facetious and condescending. His demeanor continued to be disrespectful, treating me as if I were uneducated and attempting to speak down to me. To navigate this increasingly stressful situation, I brought in a family member with expertise in corporate insurance to help mediate our interactions. It was immediately apparent that Mr. Kent's communication style shifted dramatically when speaking with my MALE family member; he became professional, amiable, and genuinely collaborative. My family member recognized this change and confronted him, reminding Mr. Kent that he worked for me, a point Mr. Kent disputed. My family member also provided insights into insurance laws and policy limits, explaining what I could legitimately seek from the insurance company, information Mr. Kent consistently downplayed, insisting the case was only worth the minimum. This confirmed my impression that his service aimed for the bare minimum. Ultimately, my family member asserted that the final decision on the demand was mine to make. Abrupt Withdrawal and Financial Implications Following this confrontation, Mr. Kent abruptly withdrew from my case and promptly placed an astronomical 40% lien on any future settlement. This lien meant that any subsequent attorney I hired would struggle to receive their full fees, making it incredibly difficult to find new representation willing to take on the case given Mr. Kent's exorbitant claim. Even after withdrawing, he continued to email me, inexplicably asking if I wanted him to finish the case, a bizarre request given his negative comments about my case while he was still my attorney. It became clear that Mr. Kent's primary goal was to settle my case for a mere $25,000, from which he would take 40%, leaving me to cover all unpaid medical expenses with the remaining balance. This financial motive, coupled with his egotistical and condescending attitude, formed the core of our disagreement. Taking Control and Final Outcome Believing I was left in an impossible situation, I ended up settling the case on my own. I saw to it that Mr. Kent received his 40% fee based on the $25,000 that HE was willing to settle for, while I ultimately secured the amount I had initially asked him to negotiate for. While I won't explicitly tell you not to hire him, I can unequivocally state that I will NEVER hire Mr. Kent again, nor would I EVER recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy.
