Zero stars. Called for our phone consultation said my issue was too time consuming and was a rude idiot. She was immediately fired and judging from her reviews we dodged a bullet

Not professional, no patience with clients. On our first meeting, within a few minutes of our meeting, she received a call and picked it up from her watch and talked. Sounded like her husband or someone close. That was not professional at all while having a meeting with clients. The whole meeting we felt rushed and didn't have our questions answered. We went in with some documents in hand with questions and she dismissed the documents saying she will prepare hers for us. We didn't even get to ask our questions. She said she will prepare documents and scheduled to meet next time to sign the documents. We left not having a good feeling. Before our supposedly meet up, we had questions about the documents she prepared. Again, she did not have the patience to let us ask questions and rushed us. I spoke up over the phone and I said I do not feel comfortable signing documents I do not understand. These are legal documents, and I should be able to ask questions and understand what I'm signing. She didn't allow us to ask questions and didn't have patience and talked over me when I asked. I told her I did not like that and she apologized over the phone, but we didn't feel comfortable signing the documents with her and didn't go with her service.

I've been using Debra Berley for years. She's handled my divorce, house sales, probate and moving violation tickets. She has always responded promptly to any inquiries and has kept me current on all matters. She is not only professional but "real" with explaining all options available. I highly recommend her services.

Debra Berley was an absolutely horrible lawyer. If I could rate her 0 stars I would. I recently received a speeding ticket in Nassau County. I reached out to Ms. Berley after searching through all Long Island lawyers. Not only did she refuse to even meet with me to discuss the matter, but she also bypassed anything I told her I wanted to do with the case and took matters into her own hands after a countless number of emails to her. I hired her through my father's job, so it was evident she was going to be paid either way, regardless of how she handled my case. She waited until the day I was leaving the country on a volunteer trip (that she very well knew about) to let me know she went to court a few days prior and settled it without me, on terms that I did not necessarily agree with, knowing I could not do anything about it. She is a horrible, ignorant, and unsatisfactory "lawyer" and I would not recommend her to my worst enemy.
