Justin was incredibly helpful, professional, and kind when I reached out regarding a dispute with my landlord. After missing my initial call, he returned it right away and took the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions. It was reassuring, and really helped me better understand my options and next steps. After contacting several other law offices without receiving a response, Justin’s willingness to listen and offer his expertise made a stressful situation feel much more manageable. I would absolutely reach out to this office again in the future should I ever need legal assistance.
Just to echo the previous reviews on Mr. Abdilla. We had him handle an eviction case for us. Once we paid the retainer he was hard to get a hold of, didn't really answer questions. He did show to the eviction hearing and once we were granted the eviction, he stopped communicating completely. We reached out several times via email and left messages with his "AI visual assistant" and didn't respond or call back. If you like being ghosted by your attorney, this is your guy. Communication with the clients who pay you is important. If you don't respond to your clients they tend to get upset and leave bad reviews. What even more disturbing about this is Mr. Abdilla's office threatened to sue me for defamation for leaving this review. Completely unprofessional in every sense of the word.
In response to your reply: So, you're making the assertion that the reason you didn't reply or respond to any phone calls or emails is because you didn't feel like your were compensated enough for your time? To me that sounds like a fee structure and billing issue. Unfortunately, It's a problem when your own clients have to spend more time than necessary drafting emails, attempting to contact you or have to resort to leaving online reviews to get any sort of response from you. We attempted to contact you no less a dozen times. A couple of 5-10 minute phone calls would've avoided all of this mess, but our frustration with your firm has boiled over to the point where we had to make our experience public. Up to this point, we still have not been contacted by you about the status of our eviction. Mr. Abdilla apparently didn't file the eviction with the sheriff which cost of several weeks in lost rent. For which we are considering seeking damages from Mr. Abdilla for negligence. We didn't receive a file number to track our eviction and we were left completely in the dark for months. We're going on month 6 of the eviction process with no updates post judgment. Not cool. Your firm still has every opportunity to reach out to us to give up an update, when that happens I will update here. But given how this has been handled, it would not surprise us if don't get a response.
Owner response
You paid me to take a case to trial and I won it. And I did so through multiple pre judgment motions and through a half dozen hearings. Two of which were emergency. Won the trial, contested! (Which was the end of what you paid for). Then I did all of your post judgment work on emergency basis, for free. I beat your counterclaims from the squatter, for free. Won the motion to vacate too. Then I did all the coordination with the cook county sheriff social work division, to save you a tenant rights lawsuit, for free. I took calls from your named tenant’s lawyer and defused another lawsuit there too. You paid me to do 2.5 hours of work. 7/3 hire, 7/23 serve, 10/2 judgment. 90 days delivered on a 120 day projected. I stand by my results.
Initially working with Justin was amazing with our first eviction case. However, after building a business relationship with Justin, phone calls and text messages have been left unanswered for months. I am disappointed :(
Initially working with Justin was a pleasure with our first eviction case AND when it came to the second one it became a huge waste of time. Constantly sending follow up emails with documents initially requested, no response. Phone calls left unanswered and when I would speak to someone, calls would NOT be returned as promised. I had been following up up for months. If the business was not wanted they could’ve just easily communicated that instead of wasting time.
STAY SWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. They ended up dissappearing with my money. Most terrible lawyers i have run across.
It takes ages to get in touch with someone after they take your money and accept your case. They dont care for customers, they only care about the money. I hired Justin and his group to handle an eviction case back in November of 2024, we went thru the whole eviction process and on June 10th 2025 when it was supposed to be judgment day they sent me an email the day before saying "oops we filed the eviction for the right address but put down the wrong unit". Since then, they answered back once more saying "someone will be in touch with you shortly" and its about to be 2 months since then. No one will answer to my emails or voicemails. If you call his "office" you get routed to voicemail saying "this is my personal number, please call my office" which is the number you called in the first place so you're stuck in a loop talking to no one. One time I did get a call back in the beginning of the case and I mentioned to him his inability to call back in a timely manner but he just said "i haven't gotten any calls from you, we log all our calls". He logs all the calls but fails to log mines or recieve any of my voicemails apparently. I visited this location to try to talk to someone and I was told this address is not his personal establishment, its an industrial building with a myriad of business and he uses an "office" that is vacant unless he needs to meet with a client by appointment only.
Its disappointing that they would waste my money but its more disingenuous for them to have wasted almost a year of my time, just for me to have to start the process all over again with someone else. I was told they could've filed a motion to correct scrivener's error but decided dissappear instead of correcting the situation.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE UNPROFESSIONAL LAWYERS. Find a lawyer with an office that you can find them in just in case they do this to you. My recommendation is dont hire internet lawyers like this because they are nowhere to be found when its time to be held accountable.
The most unprofessional attorney I have met in my real estate career so far. I have been patient but the closing was delayed due to him not scheduling a closing for us (not saying anything about his skill set). I understand that things happen sometimes, but feel like so much in his plate that he could not take care of his current clients. Very unresponsive but communication is key in this business.
Owner response
I did about twenty hours of work on this file and its companion without being presented a dollar of payment. Then I missed a deadline by two days. This is a closing that was delayed three months not by me, and then is now delayed two days. I hardly think this is an accurate way to portray the attorney client relationship, and it’s borderline defamatory to imply I am “the most unprofessional attorney” you’ve ever met. But, it seems hyperbole rules the day.
Justin was very professional & provided sound advice. He answered all my questions and gave me a detailed explanation about my specific landlord/tenant situation.
I can’t recommend Abdilla & associates enough! Their professionalism, expertise, and dedication made all the difference in resolving my case. From start to finish, they communicated clearly, kept me informed, and truly advocated for my best interests!! He personally went over and above and explained the process ahead of time.
Their attention to detail and commitment to achieving the best possible outcome gave me peace of mind during a challenging time.
If you’re looking for a lawyer who genuinely cares and delivers results, Justin Abdilla is the one to call!
DO NOT USE this guy. Very friendly and great information in the beginning. Right after I sent the funds he proceeded to ignore my calls and emails. I have no idea how he is still in business. please read the 1 star reviews, they all have the same pattern.
