How we compiled this: CrashStory aggregates public Google reviews, Colorado crash records from CDOT and local agencies, and firm-provided profile data. We do not endorse any firm. Review intelligence scores are derived from automated sentiment and theme analysis of public reviews — treat them as one signal among many, not a verdict.

Michael and his team did outstanding work representing for my family. I put all my trust into him and was patient for the best outcome. He was professional, reputable, and his communication was amazing. We are grateful for what he did for us.
This law firm was nothing short of amazing. The process for my dads VA claim total took about 3 years. But during that time I never was guessing what was happening behind the scenes! My family appreciates you all!

If this were a review of Colleen, it would be worth 5/5 stars!!! She is attentive, cares about clients, stays in touch, and really does work hard to serve those the firm chooses to represent. Over two years I had the pleasure of communicating my case, updates, and my eventual denial with her.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the attorneys at this firm. Two years. Countless engagements. Countless opportunities to establish rapport. Countless chances to ask me how my life events brought me to a place where I needed legal representation... and Mr. Archuletta never once made contact. Not when he accepted my case. Not when the DHA denied my claim. Not when he dropped me as a client. Zero explanation, zero sympathy.
Colleen had the heart to call and express her condolences for my case. Mr. Archuletta, the man I trusted with my life, never took five minutes through two years of our attorney-client relationship to even say hello.
While I am very fortunate this firm even attempted my case, which was a massive undertaking on their part, I am sad that they did not make an honest attempt to connect with their client. If you are looking for an attorney for FTCA cases, this firm can help. But if you are looking for connection and the human element as you process your legal matters, Colleen might be all that you get (Shes great!!!).
Thank you for trying and for submitting my case.
The advertise that they will help you with suing the VA for malpractice. My wife was assaulted at the Orlando VA injected against her will, with contrast after repeated objections, that made her go into anaphylaxis shock and slowly suffocate. This firm told us that they would not take the case for some BS reasons.
I wouldn't waste your time with them, lawyers want an easy win so they can pocket easy money. They advertise like they care, and will fight for you, but they just care about making easy money.
Owner response
As with all the one star reviews, this person was never our client. (see all the 5 star reviews from actual clients). We declined representation. Basically he is just bashing lawyers. We are a legal business and not crusaders. We work diligently to screen cases for merit and possibility of a positive outcome. What we do not do is just take any case just because the person threatens a bad review. It is important that our case quality is good as the government agencies respect us as a serious law firm pushing serious cases that have a chance of recovery.
You get a AI answering, then emailing the same questions, then wait 2 months. Then the AI mails you back that the day after you got of 4 days of ICU for brain bleed, had siezure, went to the VA who then told you that you didn't have a brain bleed. 47 days later you almost die, have 2 surgeries, inability to work with lifelong damage is something they are incapable of winning. Really? How about a real lawyer and doctor, not a bot. And a response in under 2 months? So if it's not low hanging fruit and a hours work they won't be interested. I should have done the math as well, dividing what they claim for recoveries by the years, it's pretty slim for a "national" firm.
Owner response
First, this was a case evaluation we declined on the merits, and this person was never our client. We have skilled personnel who carefully screen our cases, including a doctor and a nurse. Just because a layperson thinks there might be a case does not mean there is a winnable case. It is not uncommon for the VA to do everything correctly, and a bad result still happens. Secondly, sometimes the VA does something wrong, but it does not cause the injury claimed. Obviously, this person had a bad experience at the VA. But a bad experience does not necessarily mean negligence or a winnable case. It is not as simple as that, and that is why professional assistance is essential. We provided the person with a swift answer after reviewing his case. He was just unhappy with the answer. It is rare for people who complain that we did not accept their supposed "super-easy" and "simple" case to go on with another attorney and achieve a significant recovery from the VA. Bottom line, we have been handling medical malpractice cases under the Federal Tort Claims Act almost exclusively for 25 years.
Extremely rude, dismissive, discriminatory against veterans, hubristic, and just generally a bad attitude.
Veterans stay away from these people…
Owner response
First, this person was never our client. We receive hundreds of inquiries each week. Not everyone has a case that we can help with, and some people become very upset when we tell them exactly that on their first encounter. Then they leave to a bad review. We have hundreds of actual clients that can tell you the exact opposite of what this one-time contact poster has said.
Thanks nothing. Asked so many times help. You then didn’t even pick up. Terrible law firm. Berry Law group is way better! I wonder why they never wanted to help this disabled vet! Pathetic too you couldn’t even call me back at one point! You sir owe me an apology! Good luck now!
This has more merit than anything! Broken stimulator. Since 2024 February 23 fell in front of a Va rep in nj. Was silenced for almost 2 years. Stimulator was damaging me ever since. Luckily I turned it off. Multiple Sen and congressional offices ignoring my cry’s for help. Yeah I think this is the biggest one ever. 5 letters went out certified one wrote back. It was very provocative too that letter. I’m no fool sir. Even called yall last night because it’s an emergency in my back. I never lie! God works in mysterious ways. This is his way of saying second chance. Your loss not mine.
Owner response
We turn down cases that don’t have merit. This person was obviously declined and was never our client. Unfortunately some people try to force us into accepting their cases or they leave bad reviews. We take our job seriously and readily represent many, many veterans with cases that have merit.
I wouldn’t recommend them. They called me for weeks and told me they would be able to represent me. I stopped contacting the other law firms. Total scam, waste of time and gather my data. Bad business, and not to mention it was an easy case. The wrongful party is already offering compensation to settle out of court and has formally apologized and excepted fault. Before the written intake I provided all information and was called back told that they will accept over a week later I get this email. Totally unprofessional
Owner response
After requesting for two weeks, this person finally provided us the medical records on September 22, 2025. We reviewed within 4 days and turned down the case. He can say what he wants, but quick evaluation and decision making based on facts is good lawyering. Taking substandard cases is not.
Dear Archuleta Law Firm,
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for your support and guidance throughout our Federal Tort Claim. We are especially grateful to Mr. Michael Archuleta and Mr. E.J. Archuleta for their professionalism, compassion, and dedication during what was an incredibly difficult time for us.
Your expertise, patience, and consistent communication made a complex and emotional process much more manageable. We also want to recognize your entire staff, specifically Colleen and Crystal, for their kindness and efficiency—every interaction was marked by genuine care and professionalism.
Thank you again for standing by us and helping us navigate this journey. We truly appreciate everything you've done.
With sincere gratitude and deepest respect,
George & Barbara Murphy
My experience with the Archuleta Law Firm has been great. I have been guided through a difficult time in my life by their caring staff. They understood my case from both a legal and a medical perspective. They made me feel like they really cared and they understood all the various aspects of my case. EJ was great to work with. He took time to explain all my options and to help me understand his reasoning behind his advice. I feel like I was blessed to find the Archuleta Law Firm, especially after I had a difficult time find representation in California. I would recommend this firm to anyone who finds themself in a position where they need someone to guide them and direct them through what is a difficult time in life.

Disappointed by Lack of Commitment
I reached out to this attorney regarding a serious military medical malpractice case, hoping for guidance and advocacy during a difficult time. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. From the start, I felt my case was not taken seriously. All those delays, that were blamed on Covid 19, made absolutely no sense to me. Communication was minimal, and when we did speak, I sensed a lack of genuine interest or urgency. Military malpractice cases are complex and emotionally taxing, and I expected a level of professionalism and empathy that simply wasn’t there.
Once we received a denial for our claim, you all were quick to move on. Leaving us to fight alone, rather than offering thoughtful insight or exploring the merits of my situation, they seemed dismissive and quick to move on. It felt like my case was judged prematurely, without a full understanding of the facts or the impact this has had on my life. The medical experts, statement was contradictory, and not helpful. I understand that not every case is won, but you all failed my family, and the way mine was handled lacked respect and transparency.
If you’re seeking an attorney who will truly listen, investigate thoroughly, and treat your concerns with the seriousness they deserve—especially in matters involving military medical negligence—I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Owner response
As the person mentioned, the case happened during COVID-19. There is a federal law and numerous state laws that shield health care providers from lawsuits during COVID-19. As the person stated, they were explained the reasons for the denial and the laws involving COVID-19, which the person refuses to accept, saying that it makes "absolutely no sense to me." This case, like many others, has flaws that negatively affect the case. The law firm takes on many cases that have flaws and issues of one kind or another, not because we think we can prevail in every claim, but because the claims are the only chance most people have of making a recovery. It is not a promise of success. If the law firm only took perfect cases with no chance of the cases being denied, we would never have taken this case or many others. We take on many cases with issues because in many instances we can overcome those issues and the claim results in a recovery for the claimant. However, there is a percentage of cases where we are unable to recover and the claim is denied. Unfortunately, some of those people leave us negative reviews because their flawed case was denied.
