My Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card was unexpectedly denied because of an old, dismissed, and sealed case from nearly 20 years ago. I was stressed and unsure how to move forward, especially with a new job offer on the line. I reached out to Bretton Barber and the Barber Law Group, and from the very first conversation, Bretton made the entire process easy to understand and incredibly smooth. He handled every detail; from collecting records, preparing my Good Cause Exception packet, and keeping me informed every step of the way. Because of his thorough work, my case was approved under expedited review, and DPS is already reissuing my card, just in time for my start date. Bretton was professional, kind, and efficient throughout the entire process. I can’t thank him enough for helping me resolve this so quickly and giving me peace of mind. I want to start by saying I don't know Bretton or never even heard of him before I searched for a lawyer to help me with my fingerprint card. He was the only lawyer out of Several I reached out to for help that replied and was actually willing to put in work to help. ALL the other lawyers wanted me to gather everything I need and send it to them to submit. And once you gather everything to submit you can just do it yourself and save some money. My history was extensive, and I did need help. Bretton told me on day one all he needed was my denial letter and my explanation letters that he would do the rest. And that is what happened. This is the first time I've ever reviewed anything for anyone, and it is well deserved.

Bretton helped me with the GCE process. I had hired & fired another attorney before Bretton & luckily got all my money back. I’ve had free consultations and looked around the valley using Safari, Google maps etc. trying to find the best GCE attorney at a reasonable price. I had attorneys trying to get my conviction set aside, sealed, expunged, it was a weed conviction from 1998. I had to tell them all I wanted was a GCE, almost always they would argue with me about it. This was after firing an attorney tt DPS trying to get a GCE on my own. It’s a long process if you don’t know what you’re doing so I’d highly recommend Bretton. He knew my journey and understood that that’s all I wanted & he helped me tremendously I was having trouble doing it all on my own and I learned so much. If you get a DPS denial letter then you’re next step is to get a Good Cause Exception. Don’t let these attorneys bully you around and charge you for things like set aside, expungement etc. If you need a Level 1 clearance card then those other things mentioned will help but you need a GCE imho. And getting a weed conviction expunged takes an hour to do on the internet here in Arizona so why would you even hire an attorney for that? You can do that at take chances with the courts for an expungement imho. Well I hope this helps and Bretton is the real deal he’s a very seasoned, knowledgeable, no nonsense, professional. He doesn’t dilly dally around and I don’t either.
