So far, so good, I spoke with Gina who is the office coordinator, waiting to see if they take my age discrimination case! Updating my post from 2 weeks ago: I just met with Mr. Pat Barrera! It was a pleasantly comfortable meeting where I felt he really listened to what I said! Pat (he asked me to call him that) treated me with dignity and respect! During the meeting I could feel a huge burden and uncertainty lifted from my shoulders, Pat is a straight shooter and tells it like it is (from his over 20 years experience) and what I could expect as far as compensation. The staff is courteous and kind too. I will sleep better at night knowing my case is in this Soldiers hands! Thank you Barrera & Associates

It involved whistleblower retaliation, wrongful termination, and Medi-Cal fraud at a psychiatric facility. I provided them with documentation, emails, HR records—everything they asked for. Their paralegal even followed up to confirm my interest and requested additional materials. I complied every time. Then, after weeks of silence, they finally declined to represent me in June. Not because the case lacked merit—but because of “workload.” By then, months had passed and my statutory deadlines were dangerously close. Let’s be honest: this isn’t about bandwidth. It’s about fear. No one wants to touch a case that exposes institutional fraud tied to state funds. So instead of being transparent from the jump, they slow-walked it and left me hanging. If you’re facing real retaliation—don’t count on this firm. They may say they fight for workers, but when the fight gets ugly, they disappear.
