⚠️ WARNING – Be Extremely Cautious
I hired this law firm to represent me in a personal injury case. After settlement, I received a letter claiming I owed over $3,000 to TRICARE for medical treatment. The letter was presented as being from the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and used to justify a deduction from my settlement.
I personally contacted TRICARE and was told no debt existed in my name and that the letter did not come from them — raising serious concerns about fraud.
When I confronted the paralegal, Sasha, she became argumentative — and minutes later, she sent me a “corrected” version of the letter with my name suddenly added. That is a clear alteration of what was presented as a federal legal document.
Since then, the attorney has avoided all communication. I’ve filed a formal complaint with the Texas State Bar and reported the matter to TRICARE fraud investigators and military legal authorities (JAG).
If you choose to work with this firm, protect yourself, ask questions, and verify every document. What happened in my case goes far beyond poor service — it points to possible legal and ethical misconduct.
GOVERNMENT LETTER
“And even now, she still doesn’t have my full legal government name correct. Either way, you can’t alter or ‘correct’ anything on a federal document — especially not minutes after I called the firm. Government letters don’t get edited like that. That’s tampering, plain and simple.”
I dont usually write google reviews but anyways i went with this firm after being rear-ended by a fire truck and expected regular communication regarding my case.
After almost two years, I was informed that the firm would not be moving forward with my case. While I understand that attorneys may decide not to pursue a case, I was surprised that this decision came after such a lengthy period of time.
I was also told that my case notes and records would be emailed to me. Despite multiple follow-up emails and text messages over the past six months, I have not received the promised documents or any meaningful response.
My concern is not simply the outcome of the case, but the lack of communication and follow-through. Based on my experience, I would encourage prospective clients to ask detailed questions about communication expectations and case updates.
I am a retired 34 years of service law enforcement officer, and while visiting the beautiful State of Texas, I suffered a slip and fall injury. I learned of Mr Benton’s office and contacted them after not getting cooperation from the property owners where I was injured. Mr Benton’s office was amazing in reviewing my case and got me generously compensated for what I went through for recovery. I’m very grateful for all they did. Highly recommended!
Owner response
First and foremost, thank you for your 34 years of dedicated service in law enforcement. It was an honor for our team at Benton Accident & Injury Lawyers to assist you. We know how frustrating it is when property owners refuse to take responsibility, and we are so glad we could step in. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in our great state of Texas!
Benton Accident & Injury was a great experience for me. I worked with Michelle and she handled everything so well. I appreciated her communicating with me and helping me obtain medical records. It was easy to reach her and she always called me when promised.
Thank you for your help, Michelle!
I cannot thank the team at Benton Accident & Injury Lawyers enough! If you are looking for a personal injury law firm that actually cares about its clients, this is the place. Dealing with legal matters can be so stressful, but they made everything feel manageable and kept me informed every step of the way. Truly the best in Dallas!
I am pleased with how fast the Benton law firm got started on my case and informed me step by step, and Mr.Benton personally called me on a Saturday to help me get funding from somewhere fair and he was very sincere about seeing I got the best deal. His staff is very helpful and very professional. If I ever need an injury attorney again,I've already got my attorney.
Benton Law did a phenomenal job representing me. My attorney was Mackenzie Linyard. He and his paralegal, Sasha, did a great job of keeping me informed and explaining my options every step of the way. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I hope I never need to hire another personal injury lawyer but, if I ever do, I know who to call.
I can’t explain how much gratitude I have for this law firm , Helping me from day one to the end I had a wonderful experience with Sasha Gharib and MacKenzie Linyard highly recommend them both
Big thanks to Maria and her friendly and helpful demeanor! She went above and beyond to get me the information necessary for my situation and was clear with how the process would work. I wish her and the Benton law firm The Happiest of Holidays!
