You were both fleeing your country, albeit for different reasons. The only logical request is asylum, since you have no other ties to this country. You expressed concerns over the past two and a half years about the time your son's immigration case was taking, and I understand your frustration. However, it's important to note that his case began as a petition for a lawful permanent resident, which generally takes longer than cases filed by U.S. citizens.<br><br>Furthermore, you consistently compared our consular processing case for your son, who was abroad, to your own adjustment of status case. Adjustment of status cases are currently being processed in approximately three to five months. In contrast, consular processing cases typically take a minimum of two years, and in your situation, additional time was required because the petitioner was a lawful permanent resident and not a U.S. citizen when the case was initiated.<br><br>There were indeed challenges in our professional relationship.
