I cannot recommend Nicole DiGiose highly enough. From the beginning, Nicole gave it to me straight. She knows family law, knows strategy, and was honest about what would actually serve me best. I did not want a lawyer who was just going to push everything toward trial for their own wallets. I knew she was perfect for my case when she explained that sometimes the better outcome is getting the right parenting plan in place and agreed upon before trial, and she stayed true to that until the very end. What stood out most was how well she knew my case. She read every email, understood the history, and never made me feel like I was just another client. She understood that because my child is very young, this parenting plan was going to shape so much of our lives for years to come, and she handled it with that level of care. She made sure we included safeguards, checkpoints, and language that made sense for where we are now, instead of getting boxed into terms that might sound fine on paper but would not actually work in real life. One of the smartest things Nicole did was ask me what was truly non-negotiable for me. Once she knew what mattered most, she fought for that. That helped us stay focused on the things that actually mattered instead of wasting time and money getting pulled into every little side issue. She is also clearly respected in the family law world. While we were waiting for pretrial, so many attorneys stopped to talk with her, and it was obvious she has strong professional relationships and is well regarded. That gave me a lot of confidence. She helped get so much worked out with my ex’s lawyer ahead of time that by the time we went to pretrial, only a handful of the issues were left to discuss. We signed the parenting plan about a month before court, and it was approved by the judge the week before trial. It was cutting it close, but only because Nicole kept pushing things forward and would not let the other side delay the process. Having the court-approved parenting plan has paid off. Within two months, I have had to rely on it multiple times, which says everything about how carefully Nicole thought through the bigger picture when drafting it. It leaves very little gray area, and that has given me real peace of mind. Before that, I was living in limbo, and it was incredibly stressful. Now I can sleep at night knowing the things I was worried about are covered and that there is finally structure and clarity where there used to be stress, inconsistency, and constant back-and-forth. Having a lawyer who was this thorough on something so important has made a huge difference in my daily life. I also appreciated how efficient Nicole was. She used paralegal support where it made sense, and when she was away, another attorney stepped in right away and handled an issue with my ex’s attorney. Nicole was thoughtful, strategic, and always focused on the bigger picture. This was a major investment for me, so this is not a casual endorsement. Nicole was worth it, and I am incredibly grateful for her work.

Divorce, especially when children are involved, is extremely stressful. I am very grateful that I had Nicole by my side through the entire process. She was very patient with me, admittedly not easy, and was focused on making the process as easy as possible for my children and I. She was my therapist as well as my attorney and listened patiently no matter what I wanted to discuss. To say that I am very pleased with her representation is an understatement and I would recommend her and the entire team at Broder & Orland to anyone navigating this painful process. I would be remiss in not thanking Eric Broder as well for his sagacious advice. Now that the divorce is final my children and I are happy and moving forward.

Going through a divorce is extremely difficult emotionally, administratively, financially, and every other way it can be. Having the right counsel makes all the difference in navigating the balance between the law, protection, and trying to get to the most fair outcome possible. I couldn't be happier with the representation that I received from Nicole DiGiose. Nicole is incredibly effective, compassionate, balanced, yet dogged. Bottom line - she delivered. You definitely want her on your side. I felt cared for, looked after, and well represented throughout the entire process. Choosing the right counsel makes all the difference in times like this, and I would recommend Nicole without hesitation to anyone!

I’m incredibly grateful to have had Mark and Sue and the extended team by my side during such a difficult chapter of my life. You hear about people switching divorce attorneys midway. I never thought twice that I needed to switch. I knew my case was complex and messy and I knew choosing the right attorneys was crucial. At the same time, I was very concerned with the cost. From my very first consultation, Eric’s calm but assertive demeanor reassured me I would be in good hands. When I brought up cost, he told me they are efficient — and that truly proved to be the case. They are very mindful of how time is spent, and I always felt that every minute was used with intention and care. When I didn’t agree with a line item, it was taken off my bill. I really appreciated how focused and prepared they were. The one time I went to court in person, Mark was completely present and fully invested in my case — no distractions, no small talk, just thoughtful, strategic guidance when I needed it most. I would not say the same about my ex’s attorney who I could overhear the yapping of small talk behind us. It gave me a lot of confidence walking into an otherwise stressful situation. They work as a team of two attorneys which is really helpful. It meant that I always had someone available who understood my case, which made a huge difference during moments that felt urgent or overwhelming. Whenever I needed additional specialized support, they connected me with excellent experts and helped coordinate everything, which lifted a lot off my plate. Throughout the process, they were consistently respectful of my situation, my time, and my budget. While this process is never easy (or inexpensive), I genuinely feel that the level of care, thoughtfulness, and precision they brought — especially in my separation agreement — has already made a meaningful difference for me. I would highly recommend them to anyone going through a divorce. Having the right team matters more than you realize, and I’m very thankful I had them.

At 82, ending a 45-year marriage was one of the most difficult life transitions I’ve ever faced. My divorce involved the complex division of significant assets, real property, tax and estate considerations, all of which had to be interwoven with intricate matrimonial law - and Chris DeMattie navigated it all with expertise and calm. From our very first meeting, I felt supported. He worked seamlessly with my accountant and financial advisor, and it quickly became clear that I was in the hands of someone who was not only very knowledgeable about legal matters, but also deeply empathetic, highly organized, and remarkably efficient — never wasting my time or money. Divorce is stressful. During such anxious times, the responsiveness of your attorney matters enormously. Chris was always reachable: quick to return calls and emails, punctual for every scheduled call, and consistently reliable with his communication. While the “other side” often seemed to move at a snail's pace, Chris was always ahead of the game, keeping everything and all the players on track. I always felt confident things were moving forward. Choosing Chris was the best decision I made during the hardest chapter of my life.

Exceptional Attorney - Strategic, Responsive, and Cost-Conscious I retained Nicole to represent me in a high-conflict divorce and custody matter. She exceeded my expectations in every way. Strategic and Fearless: Nicole has the courage to push back when needed and isn't afraid to take bold positions when the situation calls for it. She knows when to be aggressive and when to hold back - that strategic judgment is invaluable in family law cases. Cost-Conscious Approach: Unlike many attorneys who rack up unnecessary billable hours, Nicole was mindful of costs throughout the process. She handled almost everything virtually until the negotiation day, which was incredibly convenient and cost-effective. She didn't waste time or money on unnecessary motions or posturing. Clear Communication: Nicole explained every step in detail, always providing the legal context so I understood not just what was happening but why. She was extremely responsive - and on the rare occasions she couldn't respond immediately, she always gave me a heads up. I never felt left in the dark. Trust Built Over Time: Nicole took the time to understand my priorities and never lost sight of my objectives. She built trust through consistent, honest advice even when I didn't want to hear it. Excellent Support Staff: Her office staff was very accommodating in setting up meetings and working around my schedule. The entire team made the process as smooth as possible during a difficult time. Results: Nicole achieved the outcomes I fought for. The virtual process was convenient and efficient, and I'm very satisfied with the final settlement. If you're facing a divorce or custody matter in Connecticut and want an attorney who will fight strategically, communicate clearly, and respect your budget, I highly recommend Nicole.

This firm and its lawyers are absolutely fantastic. Ashley Albini and Eric Broder, in particular, handled my high-conflict divorce custody case with utmost humility, grace, and expertise. They are truly the best of the best. Ashley is one of the most exceptional lawyers I’ve ever encountered, and Eric is no exception. They have not only provided legal counsel but have also offered financial assistance. They are unwavering in their commitment to fighting for what is right and just. I highly recommend this firm to anyone facing a divorce case.
