Right from the first appointment, Ray Brooks scrutinized the documentation that I brought, and asked many detailed questions as his wife and assistant, Polona, took notes. He needed more information so I had my homework. Ray plays to win; he assumes he's going to court and plans accordingly. He doesn't just collect your accident information, file some papers, and go the final settlement meeting. Ray had a general idea of the monetary worth of my case. He and Polona have years of experience and know what they are doing. Polona kept track of all the paperwork and appointments, kept me updated, and explained what she needed and why without any pressure. Ray explained what the next steps were. He said what to expect and guided me through each step of the process: the deposition where my testimony was recorded and transcribed for future use (the attorneys for the other two car accidents asked questions of me), and the recorded medical evaluation with a neurology doctor and an orthopedic surgeon which took two hours. The day of the settlement meeting, the mediator went back and forth, not just once, not just twice, but at least five times between Ray, Polona, and myself in Ray's office, another room with the attorney & their client for the first accident and another room with the attorney & their client for the second accident. I thought the end result was fair. Because of my "outstanding medical and liens" to repay the insurance company, I would not have gotten that much; Ray negotiated with the insurance company for a much more favorable repayment rate. I was very pleased with my settlement.
