If you need any legal help, Jake is your guy!
If any help in family court or visitation or Divorce Jack is the best. Without going into any details of my own personal case as it was an extremely sensitive one, I would recommend him for absolutely anything you may need. I was going through the unimaginable and worst thing a person could endure. He was patient, kind, honest, and even harsh when needed.
From the first step into the office till the final "see you laters", the whole team was helpful and compassionate. I know if I need anything ever again, I will call on Buckland! Thank you Jack and Joette and Karen
If you’re looking for a law firm that treats your retainer like a personal challenge to see how fast it can disappear, this is the place.
After deciding to switch attorneys, my final invoice showed I was billed for everything: reading emails, thinking about emails, possibly dreaming about emails — all at premium hourly rates. Nearly half the bill was labeled as “correspondence” and vague entries like “review papers” and “update file,” which is impressively unhelpful for something costing $300/hour.
Nothing motivates detailed billing quite like a client firing you.
To be fair, they were prompt, professional, and efficient — especially when it came to draining the retainer on the way out the door.
If you enjoy mystery charges, aggressive time rounding, and paying luxury prices for routine tasks, you’ll feel right at home.
Owner response
I disagree with your characterization of the billing in this matter.

Your case was handled pursuant to a written flat-fee agreement, which you signed. That agreement expressly provided that if the representation is terminated, the fair value of services performed is calculated at the agreed hourly rate—which is competitive in this market. After you elected to retain new counsel, a final accounting was completed in accordance with that agreement and the remaining balance was refunded.

Because attorneys are bound by rules of confidentiality, I can't publicly discuss the specifics of a former client’s matter. I can say that the time reflected on the invoice corresponds to work actually performed, including review of materials, legal research, communications, and case preparation.

We strive to provide professional and transparent representation to every client, and I stand by the services rendered in your case.
Jake is good when you have his attention. His paralegal, Joette, and assistant, Karen, doesn't* leave much to be desired with their unresponsiveness, lack of organizational skills and unprofessionalism.
Exhibit A- Atty Bucklands response.

Jake was excellent to work with through my recent divorce. He explained all options. The process was seamless and quicker than I ever thought. I highly recommend Buckland Law Offices to represent you if you are looking for a divorce Attorney.
Jessica Rundell handled my case above and beyond. I highly recommend her. She's very professional and communicates wonderfully. If I have any further matters I will be in contact with this law firm! Again, thank you for taking my case and giving me 110%!
Jake and his team were very professional and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. It was reassuring to know that my interests were protected, my wishes were followed and we were able to come to an agreement in a timely manner.
I had Mr Buckland as my lawyer when I had a DWI back in 2019 and I had a CDL and was in jeopardy of losing it but Jake Buckland got me a plea deal to wear an ankle monitor for alcohol consumption for 4 months called thr S.C.R.A.M program and I still lost my license but got it back after 2 years and also I had to pay tons of money to keep my CDL around ($5000) including court fees and tickets and now I have to wait for 10 years to drive for uber lyft, door dash etc. And school bus so I guess he didn't help me much I probably could of did all that myself.
I'd just get a paid lawyer he didn't fight that hard for me.
Owner response
It appears that you switched your review from 5 stars to 1 star after realizing that Uber, Lyft, Door Dash, etc. would not hire you with a DWI-related incident on your record, despite the conviction being 6 years old. Unfortunately, our office has nothing to do with the hiring policies of these companies.

Attorney Buckland obtained a reduction for you from a misdemeanor to a traffic infraction. This is the best result possible under the law without a trial or a dismissal due to insufficient proof or defective charging papers, neither of which were applicable in your case.

It is unfortunate to hear that you are experiencing collateral consequences so long after your conviction. Feel free to reach out and we will see if one of our paid lawyers can assist you.
