I visited Burzynski Elder Law after work to talk about estate planning with a focus on long‑term care. Their team listened patiently and guided me through the options for elder law and asset protection without making me feel rushed. I felt confident choosing them as my estate planning attorney.

My husband and I were given the recommendation to call Burzynski Elder Law Firm. We have had the immense privilege of working with Dan, Sue, Pieri, and Andrea. They have been a tremendous help with my mom who has Alzheimer’s Disease and my mentally handicapped sister. We did not know where to began- my mom and sister did not have Medicaid. After our first meeting with Dan and Sue, they set a plan in motion and have stayed on course to accomplish every goal that was made. Dan and Andrea have helped with applying for VA benefits for my sister since my Dad served in the Air Force during Vietnam. Sue and Pieri have helped with the Medicaid process and setting up a Trust for them. Sue found placement for them to stay together at a beautiful facility in Naples. She is an incredible advocate for us, and I know she cares with all her heart. It was the best decision to call them, and we are grateful for all their work and support. We will continue using this Law firm and highly recommend them to others.

08/23 update, I noticed that the original review was deleted again so I'm reposting it. No condolences, no apologies for their behavior was ever received. Our experience with Burzynski Elder Care was horrendous. The stress they put my 80 year old father throughout the ordeal was excruciating. We are a small family, our priority was caring for my sick mother and having common legal documents done. Dan Burzynski changed the legal documents after it was already approved by the entire family. Burzynski confirmed everything prior to the final copy but then changed it to his own personal preference. An attorney can advise and recommend but they can not alter legal documents against the clients direction. Dan Burzynski refused to correct his problem and then decided to terminate a 1 year contract after only 2 months of wasting our time. They refused any refund. My father paid them $18,000 for this, 2 months of difficulty. It was as if we hired a firm to fight against us. My mother passed away in January, I miss her very much. If she knew how our family was mistreated she would have been furious. After the Burzynski relationship ceased I handled all of the responsibilities as her health care surrogate. I dealt directly with the nursing home, doctors, insurance, etc. The day to day ran smoother without Burzynski's involvement. This firm was aware of my mother's deteriorating condition yet they still treated my father with zero respect, it was disgusting. Normally when you pay inflated fees you get exceptional service, not the case here. Instead we experienced arrogance and laziness. Dan Burzynski repeatedly lied about my father and I. We were dealing with a firm that refused to complete the simplest task. We expected some guidance on estate planning, none was given. Two of the three legal documents we needed were done incorrectly. Money was never a question with our family. The last Will and Testament was completed over twenty years ago and all the beneficiary's were already set. All of the legal forms and problems that we had with this firm have since been corrected but it doesn't take take away the pain and anguish we experienced during their short involvement with my family. Twenty years ago, we lived through a similar situation when my grandparents became ill. We got the necessary healthcare and nursing assistance, no attorney was ever needed nor hired and we got through that rough time without the drama of this experience. My main concern now is looking after my father. What can be done to make the Burzynski mess better? My father and I would like the Burzynski Elder Care Firm to donate the $18,000 that we gave to them to the Cancer Research Institute or the Fisher Center for Alzheimer Research Foundation in the name of my mother, Liliane.

A lawyer’s duty to keep client confidences has few exceptions and in an abundance of caution I do not feel at liberty to respond in a point by point fashion in this forum. Suffice it to say that I do not believe that the post presents a fair and accurate picture of the events.

I had a very unsatisfactory experience with this firm. Poor communication and few positive results for exorbitant fees. We hired them when my wife Liliane became ill. Had to pay them $18,000 upfront for a one year contract. After less than two months they canceled the contract but kept all of the $18,000. I soon realized how unnecessary their "elder care" was. Caring for my wife was much easier without their involvement by dealing directly with the nursing home. She lost her battle in January 2021 and I look back greatly regretting hiring this firm. In less than two months other than chatting on the phone they provided little, in fact they created a lot of additional stress. I received no condolences from Burzynski Elder Care when my wife passed away. Just awful. I would absolutely not recommend them.

My family have been clients of Burzynski Elder Law for almost 10 years. They handled the estate planning for both of my parents and we are very happy with their services. Sue Hendricks helped us navigate the Medicaid/Medicare processes to help secure care for our mother who passed away recently. Sue's compassion and knowledge was an enormous comfort to us during a very stressful and emotional time. I cannot thank Sue and Burzynski Elder Law enough for the support and services they provided my family.
