I am a retired personal injury lawyer and a retired Judge from New York. During my 40 years of practicing law; I have been involved with or presided over thousands of personal injury cases. As you can imagine; I had many choices available to me (in selecting a lawyer) when I was I struck by another vehicle while walking in a parking lot. As a result of the offending driver’s negligence: I was seriously injured and required spinal surgery.
After a great deal of research and several interviews, I had the privilege of meeting Carl Reynolds. From the outset, Mr. Reynolds was engaging and extremely professional.
He and his team, especially Brett, were involved and engaged in my lawsuit. I was injured on 12/4/2024 and within one year; my case was settled for not one policy but they were able to secure additional compensation from a secondary policy. They also, took care of my health care bills and made sure that all of the bills were paid and that I would not be left holding the “bag” so to speak with surprise bills from health care providers after my case was resolved. This latter point is critical when selecting a personal injury lawyer.
I highly recommend this firm. Mr. Reynolds is an experienced, first rate lawyer and an engaging and compassionate person. Thank you Mr. Reynolds and team for a wonderful job. I’m grateful. The Judge.

Good Evening. I am so, so sorry for your negative interaction with my firm recently and that your recent experience is completely out of character with your prior experiences with our firm and the experience of a vast majority of our clients. We have four offices along the Suncoast; so, we are usually less than 45 minutes away from most Manatee and Sarasota County residents--I'm sorry we do not have an office location closer to where you live. In addition, while our normal operating hours are 8am to 5pm, there is almost always an attorney or paralegal working at our four locations at hours prior to and well after normal business hours. Please feel free to call me directly so I can figure out how this could have happened in this very isolated instance and to make sure it never happens again. Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention so that we can improve on our standard of care to all our precious clients and potential clients. Thank you.
They say ‘injuries are personal’ but they will choose who they want to ‘fight’ for or against and for what reason. They may make a few calls, but they don’t want to have to ‘fight’ for you. They let my daughter’s case go after the pip insurance ran out when it was against the city of Sarasota and the police dept from an ambulance that ran a red light and crashed into my truck she was driving. They say they had reason not to pursue, but it was not even a justifiable contributing factor in the case. Just a good excuse not to continue the case.
Don’t believe they’re not in it for the easy money, they’ll get the FIRST third of anything they get for you. But I’m sure this is true for all the injury attorneys. Caveat emptor-let the buyer beware or aware. We were referred to them via the physical therapist that was providing the care.

Good Evening and thank you for your feedback. Please have your daughter call me directly so I can explain further the issue that prevented us from moving forward on her case. As you may or may not know, the Florida legislature passed a sweeping tort reform law back in March 2023 that renders certain claims under certain circumstances no longer prosecutable. It has nothing to do with "easy money" versus hard fought money--it has to do with what the law allows as compensable injuries and what the law no longer allows. We do not shy away from difficult cases or cases involving a "fight." In fact, earlier this year we obtained a $2,400,000 verdict against Sarasota County--a case Sarasota County denied and fought us all the way through a weeklong trial until a jury of our client's peers awarded our permanently injured client $2.4MM. We are always fighting against big bully insurance companies and corporations (and even the government if it is justified) on behalf of our wrongfully injured clients--and we will always do so--whatever it takes within the confines of the law.
My family is grateful for the dedication of the Carl Reynolds Law team during these two years of fighting for fair compensation in our case. They were always attentive to our medical needs and kept us informed every step of the way. Thank you! A lawyer with a great team and a lot of empathy.
