If you ever are in need of an attorney, Michael Pearson is the attorney you need to hire. I’ve never written a review before, but in this case, I wanted to share my experience. I never thought I would ever sue anyone in my lifetime. But with the tragedy that happened and the circumstances that followed, I needed to file a lawsuit. Thank goodness I hired Michael Pearson. He has way too many great qualities to mention, but I will let you know a few. He is compassionate. He truly cared about me as a client. That made it so much easier for me to discuss the tragic event that had happened. And he is so knowledgeable about the law. I was never concerned about anything, because I knew he was on top of all the issues, and never missed an opportunity to move the case in my favor. My brother-in-law was facing egregious criminal charges, and Kristen Curry was recommended by my sister’s trusted family court attorney for representation. Kristen’s extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system, specific judges, evidence rules, litigation, and precedent was immediately evident, but as she began working on the case, she demonstrated equally impressive “soft skills”. Her strong intuition and understanding of the personality types of the involved parties cannot be overstated. She navigated the legal system’s many obstacles with agility, expertise, and class. The absolute best thing about Kristen was her deep knowledge of the case. She was as familiar with the facts, events, timelines, witness interviews, testimonies, and motives as my sister and brother-in-law were. When the prosecutor attempted to paint an event inaccurately, mislead jurors to draw a false conclusion, or report dates incorrectly, Kristen was prepared. For starters, while Kristen was questioning witnesses, she would handwrite a timeline in front of jurors so they could visualize the order of events. She would ask thoughtful, well-constructed questions to demonstrate the holes and inconsistencies in witness testimony and uncover outright dishonesty. In addition, she was able to expose the motive for the charges, despite the underhanded concealment motions the prosecutor filed the day before trial began. Kristen was also able to prove how poor the detective’s investigation was. While the prosecutor had to rely on dirty tactics, hiding facts, and a perky personality to appeal to the judge and jury, Kristen relied on professionalism, experience, and her ability to find creative solutions, present the truth, and shine light on important background/history that seemed unrelated to the case, but was in fact tightly connected to it. At no point did Kristen get riled up by the prosecution's strategies; she remained calm and confidently overcame them. Let’s talk about litigation costs. I’d go as far as to say Kristen’s rates are extremely low considering her excellence. She’s proactive and responsive, and has a wildly capable paralegal (Isabel). She gives honest advice even when it’s not what her client wants to hear, and will represent her client based on their wishes. She has a passion for her job that isn’t found in most lawyers, and there isn’t an egotistical bone in her body. It is obvious that Kristen does not do this for the pay; she does it because she loves it. I cannot speak to Kristen’s performance if her client is guilty, but I can say with 100% confidence that she was exceptional at revealing the truth and my brother-in-law’s innocence. She is an excellent litigator, and the trial ended in the rightful, yet remarkably rare acquittal (seriously, look into how rare that is) on all six charges. If you need an accomplished, competent, ethical defense attorney, Kristen is your girl.
