Services were sub par. Errors, Errors, and more errors, which caused me to pay way more than than I should have. This firm uses emails as invoices, does not provide backup to invoices when requested, it crazy. Most of all, the firm does not take responsibility for its errors in your ruling, better yet it simply charged you again. Stay as far away from this firm as possible!
Again, enphasis on math errors, no support regarding itemized ruling issued, and certainly no detailed invoice statements after multiple requests. No words can describe the events.
Owner response
In response to your review, it is noted that you have used our office on multiple occasions. Arbitrations are by law different from mediations. Our office bills hourly for such services. In arbitrations all documentation in support of the issues to be addressed are supplied by the parties themselves and are deemed to be accurate to the best of the supplying party’s knowledge. If a party argues the accuracy and/or authenticity of submitted materials and/or the arbitrator asks for additional clarification this will delay the ruling and add to cost. Any delay in receiving additional or corrected materials from either parties and/or if new material/documentation is deemed crucial to the proceeding there is an additional cost for review and consideration. Our office provides itemized billing statements/cc receipts for all services rendered. For arbitrations the award/ruling itself also contains the breakdown of fees/costs as well. Statements are sent via e-mail and upon request, regular mail.
I wish I could give you negative stars, Maarij and this law firm was referred to me from a family friend, my case was an immigration case regarding my wife. Instead of simply referring me to someone else of expertise in that field, he took advantage of the family friend reference and assured me he is an “expert” in immigration ( I found out later he specializes in divorce and family related matters).
He had no idea what he was doing, because of him I wasted a good 2-3 years and thousands of dollars. It wasn’t until I switched attorneys that actually specialize in the matter I realized Maarij had no idea what he was doing and I had to start everything from square one.i don’t even care about the money, but the TIME he wasted is something I will never get back. He simply could have told me he was not an immigration lawyer and I would have been on my way. Absolute fraud, don’t waste your time and money with these people who practice in bad faith on behalf on their clients.

Our office has researched your detail of events. Without a name to reference, our office cannot properly address your review because your description of events does not match any events that have occurred with our office/staff.
I really enjoyed working with John Curry as a mediator. He was the perfect balance of professional and personable. He laid out all of the facts and gave me a helpful prediction of what would happen if we were to go to trial, all while providing much-needed comedic relief during an intense and stressful experience. While I didn’t get the outcome I was hoping for, I did reach an agreement that I feel good about, thanks to John.
This was my lawyer’s first time mediating with John and she’s already wanting to work with him again!
I hired Maarij Nasar for my divorce case. Our pretty simple case was really drawn out with many mistakes along the way. Had to really pay attention to docs sent to me as there were often multiple mistakes including simple things like name and age (multiple times). Bills sent I didn't find reflective of the work done. At the end of it my ex wife and I decided to just communicate with each other to finish the delayed process.
I felt 2 stars reflective as at the end of the day, it did get done and when we were able to talk, Maarij did seem like a nice guy. Just wish they cared and at the very least took care of details and in a timely fashion.
Owner response
All concerns/matters have been discussed. We wish you well in moving forward.
Used as arbitrator, did not read through and consider the evidence and facts provided. Awarded ex spouse home equity in home she did not own and awarded myself all of the debt. Awarded ex my retirement when that was not on the table.
Decision was unexpectedly not based on Washington laws.
I was per se because I had no funds available due to tremendous debt. Ex was represented by attorney that provided NO EVIDENCE of claims. However, the ruling did not reflect this.
I would not recommend as arbitrator due to bias.
Stay away from this company. If I could give 0 stars I would ! John is very impatient , unprofessional , rude, unethical and aggressive! A mediator's job is to be objective, calm and diplomatic and not
take sides ! He doesn't have any of these skills ! My ex husband to and I agreed on almost everything before the mediation and John told him during the call that my lawyer was lying! It almost feels like instead of helping us out he was trying to turn us against each other ! It was a horrible experience and after 1.5 hours ( after John hang up on my lawyer and I ) I told my lawyer that I am not going to proceed with John's services! Shortly after the call my husband and I agreed on everything else!
Owner response
In response to your review, we are sorry to hear that your experience with our office was negative. Family law can be very litigious. Our office strives to provide services that benefit the parties, not just check off completion of the dispute resolution process. We treat all counsel and parties with respect We do not advise parties, but instead explain the law, its application and our experience on presented issues with possible equitable remedies. Pro Se litigants can be at a disadvantage and may interpret communication differently than what was explained. Mediations that are not productive for either party are stopped to ensure that time and money are not wasted for the parties. Our hope is that a “failed” mediation becomes one that will inspire further outside discussion with possible resolution. We hope that the parties leave with knowledge about the law’s application in their specific issue(s) so everyone is then on equal terms and can make informed decisions.
John Curry is an absolutely horrible mediator. He’s inappropriate, condescending, and inflammatory…just to name a few. Stay away!
Owner response
We are sorry that you believe your mediation experience was negative. Family law is wrought with emotion & mediation can be difficult to navigate without an attorney’s guidance. The job as mediator is to assist (not represent you) in making surer the issues presented are clear/concise and to provide to the parties an awareness the relevancy of the laws as they apply and current interpretation of how the issues are addressed within the court Based upon this the mediator can offer alternatives/direction to the parties so they can productively negotiate and possibly reach an amicable agreement within the parties control. Sometimes this knowledge is difficult to hear and it is difficult to change ones’ perception of how they think issues should be handled/decided/addressed.
Very bad service I paid the full amount my case should have been submitted to the court waited almost 3 Months when I went to the court they told me your case should have been filed 3 Months ago whenever I try to reach out via email my lawyer never replied so I pay them but I did the paperwork instead when I asked to refund my money back they refused
Strong lawyers are always trying hard to do justice. I am proud to have a great influence of hope. When we go through the hardest trife in life there are here to help to stay focused. I'm grateful there are still good men left in every one's interest.
Poor communication at the offset. It took me multiple phone calls and emails over a longer than necessary amount of time to hear back about getting mediation scheduled.
Owner response
We are responding to your review. Our mediation coordinator did not immediately see your original e-mail as it was directed to our junk e-mail folder. Upon contacting you she did explain what had happened. When scheduling mediations all involved parties must be on the e-mail string. Opposing was added to the e-mail string and dates of availability were provided to all. The coordinator never heard back from opposing. Both parties must agree to mediate and to a mutual date unless otherwise court ordered. Due to opposing’s lack of response, communications regarding mediation scheduling ceased.
