This firm was amazing representing my wife and her sister in a case that seemed doomed early on. We found Doug and his team and it changed everything. Thanks to all @ the firm. Great people.

What a legal journey. My sister and I were appointed a fiduciary who was difficult in the extreme. We wrestled long and hard over legal representation. Many calls to Doug and staff. The patience with us (and the case) displayed by Doug and his staff was exemplary. Once we hired Doug my stress levels subsided. More important was his skill before the court. Like watching an episode of Law & Order. Amazing. We are grateful to have had him in our corner. Most important, he won the case. Thank you Doug and staff.

Rene helped me understand my situation by looking up and explaining my paperwork to me. So I’m a bit more hopeful in my circumstances.

Worst firm ever! I regret hiring them. They are not supportive. They’re rude and can’t remember anything. The paralegal does things out of anger. To threaten their own client is insane work.
Owner response
I'm sorry you feel this way Ashlie. There's a lot of moving parts in your case and perhaps we haven't done a great job of explaining to you all of the steps that are required to get you appointed as Personal Representative and why the Court requires what appears to be this lengthy process we're currently going through.
If you'd like to stop the process and start over with another Firm, please let me know. Please also feel free to call and ask for me (Doug) so I can better understand your frustrations. That said, as far as I can tell from my review of the file and from talking to my staff about your concerns, everything is on track and is right where it should be.

During a difficult time in my family’s life after losing a loved one, we reached out to Rene Baca and his firm. From the very beginning, they were compassionate, understanding, and incredibly easy to work with. Rene Baca was professional, responsive, and took the time to clearly explain every step of the process, giving us peace of mind when we needed it most. We are truly grateful for his guidance and support. I highly recommend Rene Baca and his firm to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy attorney.

If you happen to be going through a divorce and want to write a new will that removes your ex as a beneficiary or a medical power of attorney holder or a living will trustee, DO NOT use this firm. I was wanting to remove my soon-to-be ex husband from these things to ensure he didn't benefit from my death, nor see to it that I did die. His lawyers answer to that was that I needed to wait because he would only get half and my children would get the other half after going through the stress and expense of probate. I'm sure he would volunteer to handle that probate and eat up as much of my estate as he could.
Owner response
Tracy, I'm sorry you feel this way. I talked to the person who you talked to and I listened to the phone call myself.
Please know that you hung up on him within 90 seconds. No real questions were asked, and no real answers were given in that short period of time. That said, I understand your frustration, but because you hung up within about 90 seconds of the call starting, our recommendation couldn't be fully explained. There's some nuance here, which I will explain in further detail below.
That said, with the limited information I have ...
You do not have to wait to do an estate plan that disinherits your soon to be ex-husband. You can do that today and do a Will that disinherits him. You don't have to wait for anything to do that. All you have to do is disinherit him from receiving anything in your estate. However, because Arizona is a community property state, you have to do this in stages. First, come in (or go anywhere) now and do a Will that's generic in terms of just disinheriting your soon to be ex-husband and that gives your entire estate (whatever that may be) to whoever you want.
Second, after the divorce is finalized and you have a property separation order, you come in (or go anywhere) again and do another estate plan giving whatever you want to whoever you want because then you'll know what assets you have control over.
If you have any other questions about this, please feel free to call back and ask for me (Doug Newborn). I don't expect you to hire us, but I'll answer your questions for free and give you a couple great estate planning attorney names as referrals.
Again, I'm sorry for any inconvenience we caused Tracy and I hope the above is helpful for you.

I had a consultation with Daniel Ahn today, and unfortunately it wasn’t a great experience. He was polite, but I didn’t find the conversation very insightful. I had one specific question I was hoping to get clarity on, and I had to keep redirecting the discussion back to it, as we spent a lot of time on topics we were already aware of and informed about. I tend to communicate in a direct and to-the-point manner, and I think that may have come across as rude, which was not my intention. I was simply trying to focus on the reason for my call. Again, he was kind and professional, but the conversation felt unfocused and not as productive as I had hoped.
Owner response
Thank you for your review Kayla. Please feel free to call our office and ask to speak directly with me (Doug), so I can better understand what question(s) you had, and so I can better understand your experience with my Firm.

I have used Douglas’s services on more than one occasion. I am an attorney practicing in another state, but he was most helpful, knowledgeable and effective in handling some probate matters for my mother who lived in Arizona. I highly recommend him and his firm.
Owner response
Thank you Gail! We're glad to continue to serve you and your family.
