Beware of Florida Disability Services. I was very disappointed with the customer service I received and felt that my experience as an English-speaking client was not handled professionally. I visited the office twice in February 2026 (mid-February and again toward the end of the month). The office hours are limited to Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and when I initially tried contacting them by phone, I was unable to reach anyone for some time. When I finally did call, the phone system provided prompts for both English and Spanish speakers. During my first visit, I briefly met with a Social Security lawyer and the receptionist. She explained the consultation process and the associated appointment fee. Based on that information, I returned for a second visit, scheduled my consultation, and paid the required fee. At that time, I politely asked the receptionist if my appointment reminder email could be sent in English, as the communication I received was entirely in Spanish. I suggested that translating it using a simple tool such as Google Translate would be helpful. Unfortunately, she seemed unsure how to assist. About a week later, I received an email stating that my appointment had been canceled and that the establishment does not accept English-speaking clients. This was surprising and frustrating, especially since I had spoken only English during my first visit. If that policy exists, it should have been communicated clearly during my initial visit or at the time of scheduling. Clear and honest communication is essential, especially for individuals seeking assistance with Social Security disability benefits, where time and guidance are very important. I hope this feedback encourages the office to be more transparent with future clients so that people do not waste valuable time seeking help.
