On that fateful sunny morning, nothing foreshadowed trouble. After a wonderful holiday in Jamaica, my two children and I were returning, in a shuttle van operated by an American company, to the airport to fly home to Chicago. Suddenly, towards our driver, traveling at a high speed, a timber truck flew out. In a matter of seconds, my whole life and the lives of my children were changed. The driver died, our van was crushed like a tin can, and it was hard to understand how we survived. My physical injuries (which required 15+ surgeries, over the past 17 years, to treat) were incomparable to the injuries that my children received. My life turned upside down in an instant. It was necessary to fight not only for my health but also for the health of my children. The whole difficulty of the situation was that the accident did not occur on American soil. To receive fair compensation, it was necessary to find a lawyer who was able not only to apply his professional skills but also to approach the case with perfect scrupulousness and prove to the guilty party that his clients sustained life-changing injuries. That lawyer was Michael Gill from the law office of Pfaff, Gill & Ports. Thanks to him, the case was won. That win allowed my son, who was 3 years old at the time of the accident son and suffered complete paralysis of his left arm, to have 13 unique operations performed to restore mobility. His operations were performed in Huston, Boston, and the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, which would not have been possible if we had not received compensation. Now at 20 years old, his arm is 80 percent back to normal. From the bottom of our hearts, my children and I thank you Michael Gill for your brilliant work.
