Jared has been great, seeing us through a couple of (now issued) patent applications and a major IP sale. Very reasonable and approachable with better service than the larger firms we've worked with.

At other firms, I had a very frustrating experience. My original patent application was started by an attorney at a large IP firm. That attorney quit to work for the USTPO, so I got a new attorney assigned to my case. Just after I felt that he was up to speed he transferred to another firm and I decided to keep my relationship with him and so I found myself working with a new firm, then that attorney moved on and I got assigned to another who ended up moving to an out-of-state firm. I decided to keep my relationship with that attorney, so I switched firms again. When that attorney took an extended leave of absence, I had finally had enough. That’s when I set out to find a small firm with experienced attorneys who were partners rather than employees. After conducting a state-wide search, I found Goff IP Law and decided to give them a try. Boy, am I glad I did. Jared got up to speed in my application quickly and handled everything to get my case files transferred from my prior firm. He is fantastic at keeping me informed about what’s happening in the process. One thing in common with all my prior attorneys was that although they would notify me in a timely manner when we heard from the patent office, they would put off working the reply until just before the filing deadline. It was common that by the time I got a draft of the response, there remained only a few days until the response was due, so I always felt rushed to approve their work. Working with Goff IP Law has been different. Jared has always gotten responses ready with plenty of lead time and had been very available to answer my questions and help me understand the process. Moreover, the work has been first-quality work. For example, when my application received an office action declining the invention’s patentability, Jared explained why he thought that the examiner was wrong and recommended that we file a written appeal brief to appeal the examiner’s decision to the appeal board. The appeal brief was so well done that the examiner simply allowed the patent instead of responding to the brief.

Jared is an amazing attorney. We have worked together for several years now and I am always surprised/impressed with his ability to argue and get his claims past the examiners. I have also been very impressed with Jared's quick response times and willingness to help us solve urgent problems. For example, a competitor went to our biggest customer falsely claiming that our products infringed their patents. This resulted in our customer putting orders on hold. Jared quickly jumped into action writing letters and trying to resolve the situation. When it was clear that the competitor would not stop, Jared put us in touch with an amazing legal group that ultimately helped us take this competitor to court. It was a painful experience but in the end everything worked out in our favor. We couldn't have done it without Jared's help. I highly recommend Goff IP!
