I am the Owner, President and Clinical Director of Columbia Dental, a multispecialty, multi-location private dental practice, for the last 25 years. I went to Attorney Menchel, who is working with this law firm, based on a recommendation from my accounting firm. Unfortunately, my experience was terrible. I was charged over $100,000 to defend me in a qui tam case. Attorney Menchel told me he needed another attorney to assist with the case, so he brought in Gregory Gagne, which caused the price to inflate. However, the only thing Attorney Gagne did was sit in and listen. The case was settled. I forwarded some important documents to them, but after requesting a FOIA, the records show that none of these documents were communicated to the prosecutors. These were crucial documents that could have changed the settlement strategy. The records and FOIA indicate that these documents were never transmitted or recorded in any memorandum. There’s no indication in the statement of activity that these documents were even discussed. If they were communicated some other way, I have no idea how. In the best-case scenario, my case was extremely mishandled; in the worst-case scenario, I hope it wasn’t the result of collusion between Attorney Menchel and his former colleague at the Attorney General’s Office. Even at my funeral, my body would never go near that law firm.
