Couldn’t even leave a voicemail asking my question without getting hung up on. Not even 100% sure that this place is a legitimate law firm. Do not recommend to even call them because I cannot Imagine working with a company that hangs up on you in the middle of leaving voicemail to them considering the magnitude and sensitivity of the message I was leaving. Ew gross

After spending eight agonizing months going back and forth on a wage dispute with my former employer, I finally reached out to HKM Employment Attorneys. I was incredibly lucky to have Adam Harrison take over my case. He helped me reach a resolution I am happy with in less than a month - something my previous efforts couldn't achieve in nearly a year. Two major takeaways from my experience: First, legal specialties matter. You wouldn't see a general practitioner for heart surgery; you would see a cardiologist. The same applies here. If you have an employment dispute, finding a dedicated labor law firm is infinitely more effective than a generalist. Second, in highly complex knowledge fields, top-tier talent makes a massive difference; Steve Jobs coined this as 10X-100X rules where the best is 10-100X more than the average. Adam is the real deal. He is highly professional, efficient, and fought for my case as if it were his own. As a trial-ready lawyer with significant experience, he saw through all the bluffs and came to the negotiating tables with execution-ready plans, not just talks. Garbage. Took five days of my time, and a half hour on the phone, just to come back with "sorry, can't help you." Despite having a clear retaliation claim, as well as misclassification. If you're overloaded, just refer people out. Don't pretend and waste everybody's time.

All I can say is wow. Andrew Q @ HKM is on another level. He turned a nightmare into a redemption. He also is kind, considerate, direct yet understanding and always willing to hear you out (even in my case ((ha literally)) and I overthink everything) and will fight for you.

Will only consider helping rich people. $600 initial consultation and some idiot to tell you “but we care about your case!” over email. During my initial call I stated plainly that I am looking to provide 25-40% of settlement/monetary earnings. They came back and immediately asked for $600. Tonedeaf & unhelpful: what’s the point of being an attorney if you only help rich people? I suppose it makes sense that only the wealthy have access to the justice they deserve in America. Good job contributing to inequality. It’s sad that the people who are privileged enough to become attorneys don’t possess the passion or humanity to do good with their skills. Just looking to extract thousands from you out of the most traumatizing experiences of your life. And maybe help you if it will help them first. Terrible people. I’m sure a lot kinder & helpful if your pockets are full. Would love to find an attorney with a moral compass, but they aren’t employed at HKM Attorneys.
