I cannot say enough good things about Hurley, McKenna & Mertz. Their team guided us every step of the way with professionalism, compassion, and genuine care. From the very beginning, they took the time to listen to our concerns, answer our questions, and make sure we understood the process. They treated us with kindness and respect during an incredibly stressful time, and we always felt supported. Their knowledge, dedication, and attention to detail were outstanding, and thanks to their hard work, we were able to win our case. Absolutely would not choose this lawfirm...Will state multiple times they are in it for you...they are only in it for money...had a million dollar settlement ...lawfirm found a way to leave us completely broke....worse than when we met them. Absolute disgrace. See my other reviews...im very choosy with my reviews unless it warrants it....THIS DOES. DO NOT CHOOSE. And as you can see, they prefer character assassination, rather than actually looking out for their clients. Claim to negotiate, did nothing but line their pockets and lie about a claim i supposedly made, when in fact, it came from His mouth, not his staffs.

Ssince there isn't an option for zero stars, I'll give the lowest I can. I was represented by Hurley Mckenna & Merts on a sexual abuse claim. My experience was horrible. They routinely did not answer phone calls or return messages, left me in limbo about my case, and used demeaning language toward me (repeatedly referring to me as “you people”). After taking their share, they have delayed releasing settlement funds to the payout company, leaving me and other claimants waiting and uncertain. If you are a survivor seeking advocacy, be cautious — their communication and professionalism were unacceptable in my experience. I recommend anyone with similar problems document everything, demand written updates, and consider contacting your state bar or another attorney for help resolving withheld settlement funds.

I cannot thank Michael Mertz and his group enough for the incredible work they did on my case. What I went through was extremely difficult, and speaking up after so many years felt almost impossible. My case was complicated, especially because of how much time had passed and the legal challenges that came with it. Even when it felt like the law was not fully on my side, they never gave up. They fought for me with professionalism, compassion, and determination—and because of that, we were still able to achieve a meaningful outcome.
