I spoke with the lawyer, but she said she couldn't because it's a case where someone could be deported for re-entering the country. But she's a lawyer who's very straightforward, and that's good, thanks.

U.S. immigration law is complex, and I understand if that causes you disappointment. However, my professional duty is to explain the law as it exists and offer a responsible legal opinion based on that reality. It is incorrect to assume that only a felony can affect eligibility for an immigration benefit, as there are several factors that can affect eligibility under the law. My professional approach has always been transparency and integrity. I prefer to offer clear and realistic guidance from the outset rather than create expectations that the law does not support. I wish you the best of luck.
