4 years later who cares.. cause I just did the same thing. This law firm is a joke and only wants your money. We experienced the same treatment as Monica and the other bad reviews. Brendan Is not a good lawyer, he’s a fast talker and constantly continues your case, and has been turned in to ARDC because it is never too late. This law firm took my husband’s case, negotiated for probation, all agreed to probation, judge, state’s attorney and the defense attorney, then in turn my husband was given 4 years at 85%. The appellate court obviously takes time but they have ruled Brendan as ineffectual counsel. His job is to know the law, if he was doing his job, then he would have known the charge was not probationary to begin with!

I wish there were more than 5 Stars to give! Mark Johnson took our first phone call on a holiday, eased our fears, and said he could help my son. We put our trust in him, and he delivered! My son ended up with a favorable result and we would recommend Mark to anyone with serious legal ramifications to call him befoe you make a choice in legal representation.

I would like to start out by stating that if you are checking these reviews, please pay close attention to the lowest ratings. This law firm might be able to handle routine cases, but if it is complicated please steer clear. In November 2021, my family hired this law firm to represent my son in a felony case. I specifically chose this law firm because there were elements of the case that needed to be investigated further, and this law firm conveyed to me that they would do just that. Not only did they NOT investigate they also failed to properly advise my son of the consequences of taking a plea and how a sentencing hearing was conducted. Initially, Ken Eckhauser was the attorney assigned to my son's case. He attended 2-3 hearings where during the last hearing via Zoom, he was admonished by the judge for not being properly dressed. A few weeks after this hearing, Mark Johnson took over the case. We were now into the month of March/April 2022. My son contacted me from jail to say some other attorney came to visit him and he had no idea who it was. Keep in mind, from November until this date I had no communication from the law firm but they had all of the $25,000 we had paid. Mr. Johnson informed me after having met with the State Attorney's (SA) office that they would not budge on their offer of a 23-year sentence but that if my son plead to the most serious of the charges that we should go to a sentencing hearing where he believed that he could get a much lower sentence. What we did not find out until the day of the sentencing hearing was that 1) it is a mini-trial overseen by the judge, and 2) the SA presented that they were now asking for a 28 year sentence. At the end of the hearing, my son was sentenced to 20 years for a Class X - aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm. If the sentence itself wasn't disappointing so was Mr. Johnson's performance. It was like he did not know my son's case at all and did not press the witnesses as their testimony did not match that of what they told police when initially interviewed, amongst other issues that became evident were never investigated. Today our family is deep in the appeal process and trying to reverse all the bad representation my son received. I still have yet to receive an itemized billing of what my $25,000 went to.

I never thought I'd need legal representation, and when the need presented itself I was unsure what to do. After consulting other firms, I happened to get a call back from the Johnson Law Group. I knew right away that I'd be choosing them. Everybody I spoke with was amazing. I had the pleasure of working with Holly and the founding partner Mark. From the first phone call to the last phone call, and the emails between, I felt like I was in good hands. I will always remember that first in person meeting with Mark. He was very thorough, he did not try to speak over me, and he asked questions that left me feeling human. That my words mattered to him. He took his time explaining the legal process to me. I left the office feeling calm, that I was no longer navigating things on my own and in the dark. I knew that I had a group advocating for me, and that they would not give less than one hundred percent. Though I did not get the chance to meet Holly, most of the email correspondence was through her. All of the good things I've said apply to her as well, and I wanted that to be recognized. Although there were times I didn't hear from the firm for awhile, I knew this was because they were giving it their all. Not once did I feel forgotten about. For anybody reading this review, consider reaching out to them as soon as you can. Their service in representation was more than worth it for me, and I trust they'd advocate for you just as hard. Mark, Holly, and everyone else who worked on my case. I know I've said thank you many times already, but I truly can't put into words how much I appreciate you all.
