We met Kevin Cox when we retained him for a family member that needed strong representation in the Polk County court system. He has been helping our family member for over a year now and has been very helpful and knowledgeable about the law. He is caring and involved with his clients and his professionalism shows in the courtroom. His assistant, Carolyn, who holds down the office is helpful and attentive whenever we call. Also, the CED, Chief Executive Dog, Maverick, will always be there to calm any nerves, you as a new client, may have. We highly recommend Kevin Cox to be retained as your lawyer.
My name is Patricia Richards and I was arrested in Polk county. I retained Kevin Cox he has been a friend a mentor and the best attorney I've ever had!! He truly cares about me he cares about my family and he cares about my five dogs my first impression when I walked into that office and saw that beautiful 90 lb puppy standing in the doorway I already knew he was the one!! When you treat God's creatures like they're a part of your family and not just a pet I immediately retained him without even talking about my case. You can't go wrong with Mr Cox and Carolynn and Maverick Maverick is the office mascot as well as the 90 lb puppy. Good luck if you have a case going right now go retain him before it's too late!!
When I met with him, everything was great said he can get it done gave him $1000 deposit called a few days later didn’t even have me in their computer. Waited a few more days called again still didn’t have me in their computer. Waited a week never heard anything back contacted them several ways and never heard back!
My friend heard about him from a girl she met in jail and she told her first hand that he asked for an explicit favor and that girl did comply and he got her off, this is also not the first time I’ve heard an accusation like that
I would not recommend this lawyer to anyone. I saw first hand how he deals with his clients, on the phone and in person. In my opinion, he just gets cases for the money and doesn't care about his clients. Has no follow thru when it comes to evidence and presenting it to the court. When asked questions about evidence that should have been provided, he says it does not exist. Stay very far away from him.
The worst lawyer, he has a case with my friend Luis Lara Corona about defending an accusation and instead of defending me, he is making me lose my case.
Kevin is a really superb Attorney/Lawyer when it comes to criminal defense. He takes time to understand every case and listens when you are in person with him.
Kevin could be at 5 Star as a Google review. However, there are some areas of opportunity that aren't bad, but will need to have a plan in place to continuously succeed with his practice .
1. Kevin needs an assistant lawyer/attorney working under him.
2. Kevin over books himself.
Now let me explain...
Kevin is a great man! Solid Attorney/Lawyer has won numerous cases. And AFFORDABLE. When I say AFFORDABLE.. he is not a rip-off. LOWEST in the Tri county area for sure, and great at what he does.
With that being said, he takes on many cases that can overwhelm him, causing him to push dates around, push appointments, or DELAY you with an update on case situations.
I have witnessed this with multiple clients on different cases that he owns.
To resolve this, I would like to see Kevin supported by young, eager lawyers or attorneys that can learn for Kevin and help with the workload.
Kevin's Front desk assistant Amber is amazing. I think, if she can start having reviews with Kevin at the end of day on cases and update her systems with information provided from Kevin that would not impeded court, this would help friends and family's calling in to get progress updates, instead of just telling us he isn't there or at court.
Those are the only 2 feedback concerns that I'm able to share. Everything else, Kevin is phenomenal.
I hope this helps someone with making decisions with the Kevin Cox Law Office!
Kevin Poston Cox, 2000 E. Edgewood Dr., Suite 106A, Lakeland, suspended for 10 days, attendance at Ethics School, and payment of disciplinary costs effective 30 days following an April 7 court order. (Admitted to practice: 1988) Cox was hired to represent the client for a violation of probation allegation. At a meeting in Cox’s office with his client’s advocate/witness, Cox said disparaging comments about his own client. (Case No: SC21-934)
Kevin Cox had no problem taking my son‘s money for his case and then doing nothing. He was even given that evidence to have charges dropped and did nothing. I think he’s a sorry excuse for an attorney and a human being! A public pretender did more on the case than he did.
