Top-notch law firm! I’ve had the pleasure of closing multiple real estate transactions with Ed Wood and Amber Rolling. Their service is unique and incredibly personable. I have had multiple closings in various places for personal and investment properties. This has been the worst experience with the most incompetent and dishonest staff with poor communication. Needless to say, closing will not occur timely for a very straightforward process. I had reached out to just about every elder law firm in Tallahassee for help setting up my grandfather’s estate after he had a health emergency. 3 of them never called me back, one told me the next opening was months away, and one led me on for months telling me the attorney was almost ready to take my case, before finally admitting the next opening was also months away. I spent months worrying about what we would do, tearing my hair out and agonizing over what felt like a hopeless situation. Ms. Maykut with King & Wood was the only attorney to immediately spring into action and help us during this extremely difficult time. Within a week, Ms. Maykut handled my grandpa’s entire estate, met him in the hospital and solved all our problems for a good price. I cannot possibly thank her and her office enough. The initial closing date was changed which caused things to be rush. Mistakes on initial paperwork (for ex. misspellings, amounts incorrect, etc) were made due to the date of closing being moved up. There were many factors that caused this closing not to go as smoothly as possible, for ex. A 1031 exchange, home was owned by a trust, documents accidentally sent to Kentucky instead of Tallahassee, etc. Home closed over a month ago and I have never received any documents from closing in April 2024. (Since then I have been told today that they will be overnighted to me.) Update: Mr. Edward Wood called and expressed his apology for what happened. I was very appreciative of his phone call.
