Consultation with Former Judge David Kwangsoo Kim
I paid $500 for a one-hour consultation with former judge David Kwangsoo Kim regarding my immigration case.
I sent all of my case documents in advance, but during the consultation, it felt like he had not reviewed or understood my materials at all. There was no sign of preparation.
Because of his background as a former judge, I expected deeper insight and a different perspective than what typical immigration attorneys provide. However, the consultation was very superficial, with little practical strategy or concrete guidance.
In fact, it felt less helpful than consultations I’ve had with immigration attorneys who charge $100–$150 per hour.
In particular, his understanding of current immigration practice and practical, hands-on experience seemed quite limited.
Most of the consultation focused on negative statements like “it will be difficult” or “it may not work,” without offering realistic options or strategic direction. Overall, the value did not justify the cost.
After the session, I shared my concerns about the lack of substance for a $500/hour consultation. I was told that his usual rate is $1,000 per hour and that $500 was a “discount.” However, regardless of the stated rate, the level of preparation, depth of analysis, and practical expertise did not feel appropriate for such a high fee.
I went in expecting meaningful insight because of his former judge title, but the experience was disappointing.
I am so grateful for attorneys Heather Roberts and Helena Tetzeli. I had a very complicated case, but they both navigated the process meticulously and got me the best result possible. They communicated regularly and were very honest and upfront about the costs and didn't bill me later for more money as other attorneys have tried to in the past. I have since referred two other people to their firm and if anyone is reading this, I highly recommend this firm to you. Thank you again, Heather and Helena!
Thank you to the firm for an incredible, transparent, and trustworthy partnership on my family’s journey to obtaining green card status! The process was super simple and easy. Odalys is a super star associate that was super hands-on with our legal needs and was always early to provide guidance.
In this age of high scrutiny around immigration, Mrs. Tetzeli and team is the strategic edge families need. 10/10 service.

I retained John Pratt for a marriage-based immigration case and ended up switching to a new lawyer after about four months. Thankfully, my new attorney successfully obtained my green card.
Here are some of the major issues I experienced:
1. Lack of progress and multiple errors: After nearly four months, there was little to no progress on my case, and I discovered several mistakes in the application materials they prepared. (As a recent law school graduate myself, I was able to identify these errors.)
2. Overpriced for the quality of service: The firm charged well above the market rate, which I initially assumed reflected higher-quality legal work—but that was not the case. They were slow to respond to questions, unhelpful on key issues, and overall did not provide competent representation.
3. Issues with refund process: When I terminated the contract, it took nearly a month to receive my refund because they repeatedly made errors with my bank information. They never apologized and even attempted to place the blame on me, despite my providing correct details.
4. Refusal to provide work product: Upon termination, I requested copies of all work product related to my case. The firm refused, claiming ownership of the documents. This is inconsistent with professional responsibility rules, which make clear that clients are entitled to their own case files.
Overall, I would not recommend this firm based on my experience.
Taylor Alicia Hill is an incredible attorney. She is extremely knowledgeable and will go out of her way for you to get you the information needed to win your case. She is very savvy and understands the law better than most attorneys. She will not sugarcoat the merits of your case and if she cannot help you she will point you in the direction of who can. Do not hesitate to get a heavy hitter like her on your side. Thank you so much Taylor!
I am deeply grateful to my immigration attorneys Keven Gregg, Elizabeth Montano, and John Pratt, for helping my family through a complex and emotionally challenging immigration process. We were facing a difficult family-based green card case, and from the very beginning, they provided expert legal guidance, clear communication, and genuine compassion. They accompanied us to the green card interviews, ensuring we were fully prepared and supported throughout the process.
When our case encountered unexpected issues — including a flawed initial decision by USCIS — our attorney didn’t give up. They thoroughly reviewed the case, prepared a strong appeal through AAO, and stood by us every step of the way. They prepared extremely high-quality legal documentation — thorough, well-organized, and tailored specifically to the unique details of our situation. Their attention to detail made a clear difference in the final decision.
Thanks to their dedication, professionalism, and deep knowledge of immigration law, we were able to resolve the situation and finally achieve a positive outcome. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone navigating complex immigration challenges.
It is RARE that you find a professional who is not only competent but passionate about what they do. Odalys was extremely detailed, professional, responsive, and experienced. She stayed with us throughout our entire process and was responsive every step of the way, including the interview. Thank you for all of your assistance, care, professionalism, and initiative. This is an all-star law firm, and I highly recommend their immigration services.
To be candid, the experience left us feeling not only disheartened but also questioning the value of the meeting altogether. The attorney arrived 15 minutes late and did not engage with us for the full hour we had scheduled. More importantly, throughout the meeting, there was a consistent lack of empathy and helpfulness.
Every time we asked a question, the response was along the lines of: “If you hired me, I’d do this, but that comes at a cost $20,000.” It felt less like a consultation and more like a sales pitch. We came to the meeting as a working family, seeking at least a basic level of guidance in exchange for the fee we paid. Instead, we were met with transactional responses that left us demoralized and without any real sense of direction.
We understand that legal services come at a cost, but a consultation should offer at least some foundational advice or reassurance. What we received felt cold, dismissive, and not reflective of the professionalism we had hoped for.
We left the meeting feeling like we had wasted our money, and worse, our hope.
I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously, as we believe no family should walk away from a legal consultation feeling more confused, disappointed, and discouraged than when they arrived. This is a serious issue, not a sales pitch.
We are very grateful with KKTP for taking on our case and helping us fulfill our dream of becoming legal residents of this great country that welcomed us 25 years ago. Thank you, Attorney Clayton, for helping us and walking with us through this process.
Thank you for giving hope to many families who are currently stuck between a rock and a hard place.
God bless you and may you continue to be instruments of justice in every case that comes to your office.
I recommend this Law Office KKTP

From the beginning, they approached my case with professionalism, integrity, and a deep understanding of the complexities involved in the EB-5 process.
