So I swore I would stay quiet and just let it ride. But since I keep being charged (I will include screenshots, it won't let me add pictures) its time I tell my story.
Please do not use Brett Pritchard Law Firm. I had a total of 3 different lawyers (none of which represented me during my final mediation) and I only ever met with 1 of them. The lawyer who did represent me during my mediation convinced me it was best not to go for back child support as I would more than likely lose and the judge wouldn't agree. I just received a message asking for my address (even though they have it on file) and because I responded I was charged $15. I am being charged different amounts for different things and no one has reached out or spoken to me since December 23rd which is when I was told they were closing my file (for the 2nd time). October 20th 2025 was when it was 1st mentioned they were closing my file. It was $5000 just to retain them and then another $1200 just to go to mediation, which was not explained to me up front. I knew this could cost a little bit of money but not this much. I have paid a grand total of: 12,081.71 so far and I still owe them $167.50 and my case is still not closed even though I have not heard a word from this Firm since December like I mentioned.
I really just want to make people aware of the situation and bring light to this. I wish I would have gone somewhere else. The best thing I got from this was being made custodial parent.
I’ve known this team professionally for years and have always been impressed by their integrity, knowledge, and dedication to helping their clients. They genuinely care about the people they serve and work hard to get the best outcomes possible
I am not a client of BH Law Firm — but I truly wish I had been.
I was in a custody battle from 2019 until February 2026. Over those seven years, I went through three attorneys. In 2024, I had the opportunity to hire BH Law Firm, but I decided against it because I thought their retainer was too high. Instead, I hired Carlson Law Firm.
The attorney I hired billed at $400 per hour. What started as a $7,000 retainer ultimately cost me nearly $60,000.
More painful than the money was how I felt at trial. I didn’t feel strategically protected. The focus seemed to be on basic, surface-level issues — things I believe I could have handled myself. When you’re paying $400 an hour, you expect preparation, advocacy, and someone willing to fight when it matters most. That wasn’t my experience.
Recently, after being laid off and needing to modify child support, I reached out to BH Law Firm again. Jeffrey set up a Zoom consultation. Within minutes, he said Brett was off that day — but he immediately called him on his cell phone so we could all speak.
They spent over an hour with me. Free consultation. No pressure. No sales tactics. Just clear, thoughtful guidance about what I should and shouldn’t do.
After seven years of litigation, that level of care honestly hit me emotionally. For the first time in a long time, I felt like someone actually cared about me — not just billable hours.
I’m not their client. I gain nothing from writing this. I simply want someone else going through a custody case to pause and think carefully before choosing representation based only on the retainer amount. I learned the hard way that the cheaper option upfront can cost far more in the end.
If you’re facing a family law matter, at least speak with BH Law Firm before deciding. I wish I had.

This firm has been a nightmare to work with. I was a referral and I can’t believe the headache and frustration they have caused me. I can’t imagine how someone who isn’t a referral would be treated.
In my initial consultation with one of the attorneys I was told for an uncontested divorce it would be $2500 to get it all done. After the most recent invoice it is now totaling over $4300.
After initially providing the terms of our divorce it took 84 days to receive the first draft of the final decree, almost all of which was fairly basic as we had no special requests or terms. HOWEVER they messed up a phone number of all things. We did request one change that ended up being a nightmare in the long run to get them to updated.
On 10/21/25 I was informed that I had a call scheduled with my attorney, Mr. Cavazos, on 10/30. I was informed the call could happen any time throughout the day so all day I made sure I was not busy so I could take this call. I did not receive said call. On 11/3 I finally received a call from my attorney at 6PM with no warning. Since I was in the store he called me back after I was able to get to my car. We talked about the changes I needed and he said he would have it done by the end of the week, or I would hear from him by then.
On 11/10/25, after not hearing from my attorney, like he said I would, an incorrect version of the final decree was provided to me. In order to speed the process along I provided the exact wording I needed within the document (two sentences). To which I was met with silence.
On 12/15/25, after still receiving no changes to my documents, I requested to meet with Mr. Pritchard himself to express my displeasure with the service I was receiving as I was promised this entire process would be speedy.
Finally on 12/17/25 I received the properly updated version of my documents. We had these documents notarized and returned within the week.
I had my call with Mr. Pritchard where he informed me that this entire process should’ve taken 90 days instead of the over 200 it ended up taking. I also learned that he was the one who made the requested changes to the final version of the decree that I had been waiting for.
After finally getting a hearing date scheduled, days before court, my attorney added changes to my final decree that would have resulted in the divorce being contested. I did not ask for or want these changes. I had to demand to speak to my attorney and get him on the phone after trying repeatedly. After arguing with him for a few minutes, he agreed to drop this version of the final decree.
Additionally, after receiving no updates for so long, I continually check in requesting for any status update to try to get some momentum on the last remaining changes to the documents. These communications cost $30 every time. $15 to send a message and $15 to have it reviewed and responded to. After complaining about this they “graciously“ offered to drop the fee for sending messages but it still cost $15 for their response.
My divorce has been final for over a month and I am continuing to receive invoices with no clear description of charges while being told by the billing department that they are “valid” and if I would only download the invoice, which I did before reaching out, I could see why. Yet the invoice has no description of the charges.
As someone who’s is very against the use of AI, I would recommend to anyone that they take their chances with ChatGPT generating their final decree and figuring out the court system themselves rather than retain this firm. I worry for anyone that has retained them that is not a referral.

This law firm has a dedicated staff that is quick to assist and provide guidance on your case. You may not like the end result, but it is definitely not a lack of effort on Pritchard's law firm. I highly recommend hiring this team to fight your case!
best lawyer i could have ever asked for . mr Pritchard handled my divorce for me. lets say I walked away with everything. I got custody of my son, she didn't get any of my military benefits, the only thing she got was her clothes. thank you for helping give me and my son the life we have enjoyed.
After my divorce started I had a 3,000 dollar purse to help my divorce be finished. Uncontested, no shared property, just wanting custody. This company amd Mr.Sarkoya failed to even handle the simple task of getting an initial hearing in place properly to get a standard custody order in place cause my daughter was being held away from my visitation. I want more than 1 night with my daughter. Their gross misuse of fund, professionalism and overall pass the blame game is beyond irritable. If you wanna waste your money come here cause now I got a loan to pay off and a case that they are refusing to withdraw from cause they want another 4,000. Even being told I do not want their services any longer just refer me to billing. Its beyond a joke at this point. Then when telling them I dont want them on my case please stop anything and everything and remove themselves I get another bill for 20$.
They are so welcoming, kind and informative! Thank you Mr P for taking the time out of your day to hear our concerns! There was a level of transparency and genuine attentiveness from the moment we arrived for our appt. We appreciate yall!
BEWARE: This law firm did nothing that they said they would besides take our money - we were charged $1,396 for them to not even file that we were disputing, they did not get served on our behalf, they transferred us to a different lawyer without even telling us - I don’t recommend this office to anyone looking for a professional. Update: still haven’t received $604 refund
Update #2: WOW - they charged $25 for “time entry” on December 1st when they haven’t done ANYTHING FOR US PERIOD but haven’t even spoke to us in OVER A MONTH -
Please find someone else rather than this office! They quote you one thing and you end up paying alot more. I kept getting reschedule and charged 800 to 2000 each month until I finally told them I cannot continue to pay you after I paid the 7k for my case. They made me take a plea deal when I did all the research for them with police report, witnesse, and etc. I only took the deal because it was no jail time and supposedly 1 year probation which turn into 2 years, period. I have no criminal record/history for nearly 40+ years
