From experience, be very careful. Attorney Claudia García charged me $250 in cash, requiring payment before even seeing her, which was strange. Now I understand why they do it this way, only to tell me she couldn't see me in less than a minute. This information could have been provided over the phone by her assistant, as other law offices did, which I called later to verify. I was given the same information over the phone without an appointment, without being charged, and still over the phone. When you call a professional office, they ask questions before scheduling an appointment and inform you if they can see you—it's that simple. Even when I was in her office with her assistant, Brenda, I emphasized that I didn't want to pay $250 if she couldn't help me. Even the secretary from the other office noticed what was happening and tried to help, but I ignored her. I suggest you look for lawyers who offer free consultations by phone to see if they can help you. It's a shame that some people take advantage of the situations we find ourselves in. This was unethical and unprofessional. If this is how they acted in this situation, what must their work be like? I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. It's not necessary to pay for a consultation only to be told they can't help you, or to get a response in less than a minute.
