I deeply regret hiring this lawyer, Fedor Kozlov. What I thought would be professional legal representation turned into years of frustration, stress, and financial loss.
From the very beginning, I was constantly misled regarding fees. I was billed for phone calls and even text messages, something many reputable lawyers don't charge for, or at least clearly state upfront. Every interaction seemed geared towards increasing my bill rather than advancing my case.
There was an excessive amount of unnecessary paperwork, filings, and correspondence that led nowhere. Instead of progress, I received bills. After more than three years, there were no real results, except for his assistant "winning" a trial that was already a sure thing. I paid $10,000 just for that trial! Three years of my life were wasted trusting someone who failed to deliver.
One of the most disturbing incidents occurred when his wife, who works in the office, emailed me, admitting they had made a mistake and stating they needed to recalculate my payments. This completely undermined my trust. If "mistakes" in billing are only discovered after several years of working with a client, it raises serious concerns about accuracy, transparency, and ethics.
To top it all off, I was repeatedly told that my hearings would take much longer than they actually did, leading to unnecessary delays, emotional distress, and additional legal costs. I felt deceived and kept in the dark while the clock – and the bill – kept ticking.
This experience has caused me significant emotional and financial hardship. I entrusted this lawyer with protecting my interests, and instead, I feel betrayed. I strongly recommend that anyone considering using this firm carefully track every expense, ask questions about every invoice, and think twice before signing a contract.
I sincerely regret not choosing a different lawyer.
After your response.
Okay, let's analyze your response in detail. You claim that you "won" the trial. By law, I was entitled to half of our joint property. But I waived my claims to the cars and other property. Therefore, it was impossible to lose. Moreover, a victory is only considered a victory when the funds are deposited into my account, which did not happen. And the amount in your account only increased.
I repeat, you did not appear in еthe trial. You sent an assistant. For 3 years, you sued for what already belonged to me by law.
Did you manage to hold my ex-husband accountable? How? Did he pay me any money? Was he sent to jail or at least had his driver's license suspendedd? Nothing of the sort. He laughed in court.
The result: After 3 years of litigation and after I paid you tens of thousands of dollars, all you achieved was the completion of the divorce process. You couldn't even force my ex-husband to pay child support for my two children.
Owner response
Ms. Ivanna Popovych,

I am very sorry you feel this way. It is very hard to respond to it because you keep changing the narrative. The review you posted is untruthful and misleading. Furthermore, it is inaccurate.

Your husband was indeed sent to jail. We froze his accounts and he paid you money. And you yourself insisted that our associate attorney appear at trial for financial reasons. And he did pay you child support. Your response just confirms that we did an excellent job.

First and foremost, we won the trial in your favor. It is a fact.
I understand your frustration that actual post judgment collection process takes time . I also can understand that court procedures sometimes are not as fast as you would like them to be. However, I appeared with you at all hearing and was able to convict your former spouse for a failure to comply with the orders. Finally, as you are well aware, as a result of our citations, his accounts were frozen and you were able to retrieve a significant amount. This is another fact that even though you failed to mention but at the same time you cannot deny it.

Second, you were given a discount that you requested. Yes we spent several years working on your complicated matter that included custody, dissipation of marital funds and child support issues. You were informed of the process every step of the way. You discussed with me personally each court proceeding. And you reviewed every single invoice and approved each charge.

I understand that you drafted this review is in retaliation of my fee petition for the balance that you refuse to pay. It seems that you are also upset that your credit card dispute did not materialize in your favor and you decided to falsely accuse me and publicly attack my character. It is very upsetting that you chose this way.

I have met all of my contractual obligations and so should you. You were never overcharge. You statements constitute intentional misrepresentation and false. Finally, some of your statements are defamatory and aimed to harm me personally. Please remove these false accusations and live up to your contractual obligations.

Please cease and desist your tortious defamatory actions immediately.
I had an excellent experience working with this attorney. From the very beginning, everything was handled professionally and clearly. Communication was always prompt, questions were answered in detail, and I always knew what was going on with my case. You can tell this lawyer truly understands the law and cares about delivering real results. The level of professionalism and dedication really stood out. If you’re looking for a lawyer you can trust, this is a solid choice.
Highly recommend! Fedor Kozlov was professional, responsive, and truly cared about my family’s best interests during a tough divorce. Made the process much easier. 5 stars!
I highly recommend Lawyer Kozlov’s office. They are trustworthy, reliable, and professional. From the very beginning I felt confident in their expertise and attention to detail. They helped me resolve my legal matters efficiently and with great care. I am truly grateful for their support and excellent service.
Fedor Kozlov was extremely professional, and knowledgeable, and always went the extra mile to support me in my case. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking legal assistance in Chicago
Best Law Firm.
Honest, knowledgeable, and caring.
For over 12 years I have been relying on Fedor Kozlov and his team for legal advice and representation.
I have never been disappointed or misguided.
If you want your case to be treated as the most important one, look no further.
I was facing a terrifying and unfair situation, false allegations of medical neglect made by my child’s doctor led to a DCFS investigation. I received a letter from DCFS that made it clear I needed legal representation to protect both my child’s and my own interests.
After speaking with six other attorneys, I finally found Attorney Fedor Kozlov. He immediately stood out for his confidence, deep knowledge of DCFS matters, and, most importantly, his honesty. He didn’t sugarcoat anything he walked me through every possible outcome and helped me understand the process ahead.
The journey was far from easy. The system itself seemed to work against me at times, and I came close to giving up. But Fedor Kozlov remained patient, empathetic, and steadfast. After three hearings, the allegations were dropped, and my name was cleared.
I’m incredibly grateful to Attorney Kozlov and his firm for their dedication and support. Thank you for seeing this through to the end.
I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with this firm. I made my goals very clear—multiple times, in writing—and they’ve continued to ignore them. I recently received yet another update that directly contradicts the direction I explicitly requested months ago.
It’s disappointing and frankly exhausting to feel like you have to keep repeating yourself to a team that’s supposed to be representing your interests.
Communication has been inconsistent, and I would not recommend this firm to anyone looking for attentive or responsive legal support.
