I had high hopes for this firm after meeting Mike a few years ago—he seemed like a solid, good person. Unfortunately, my recent experience working with his paralegal Crystal was very disappointing.Communication was consistently poor. Crystal promised multiple times to call me back or send case updates, but those follow-ups never happened, leaving me waiting for weeks without any word. When I reached out myself because of the lack of response, I often received short, defensive replies that felt dismissive and unprofessional.I understand law firms can get busy, and as a business owner myself I tried to be patient. But after more than 30 days of no real progress or reliable updates, I was told the firm is now too busy to take on my case. It felt like a complete letdown after all the waiting.The delays have added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation, worsening my anxiety and putting me in a tougher spot financially—I’m now facing serious housing instability that could have been avoided with better communication and follow-through.Reliable updates and basic courtesy go a long way, especially when someone’s future is on the line. This experience has left me frustrated and searching for a different attorney who can actually prioritize their clients. Disappointed and wouldn’t recommend if your matter needs prompt attention.

To clarify for readers, you initially contacted our firm on January 30, 2026 (and today is February 18, 2026) regarding a matter that has been ongoing for approximately two years and involves complex issues related to insurance coverage, construction, and commercial liability. As with all prospective matters, we conducted preliminary due diligence at no charge to evaluate the viability of your claims and the legal issues involved. Complex commercial and insurance disputes require careful review of documentation and facts before any responsible attorney can provide meaningful guidance or commit to representation. During that review period, additional documentation was requested and received over several days. At no point had we formally agreed to take on the matter. While we understand that personal circumstances can create urgency, we cannot ethically expedite legal analysis beyond what diligence and accuracy require, particularly in complicated litigation matters. After further review, we ultimately determined that we were not in a position to proceed with representation. We respectfully disagree with the characterization that there was a 30-day period of inaction. The timeline from initial contact to our decision was substantially shorter. Our firm prioritizes clear communication and careful case evaluation, and we regret if our decision not to move forward caused disappointment. We remain committed to serving our clients with professionalism, diligence, and integrity, and we wish you the best in finding counsel suited to your needs

Our case began in 2022 under extremely stressful circumstances. While we were in Tulum, Mexico, someone broke into our home, and what followed turned into a nightmare involving several federal charges against us. From the very beginning, Michael Sterling stood by our side and never gave up on us.
Over the course of nearly four years, Mike was patient, consistent, and incredibly dedicated. He worked day in and day out to see this case through to the end, always keeping us informed and reassuring us during one of the hardest periods of our lives.
In March 2025, the case was finally resolved: Andriane’s charges were dismissed, and Ladarius received three years of probation. During this time, several of our vehicles and other valuables were taken—even though we continued paying car notes for years. Mike didn’t stop once the case ended; he continued fighting to help us recover our vehicles and property, showing that he truly cares about his clients beyond just the courtroom.
