Jeff did my divorce. Unfortunately, the entire duration of my divorce, I felt like my case was a side project, or filler work, for Mr. Cojocar. We rarely discussed the specifics of my case. Very little collaboration, everything was submitted last minute, he did not allow me to review items prior to submitting them to the other side. 1/2 way through, I realized I was completely on my own. Before the 2nd mediation, which was to be focused on spousal support, I paid $150 to ADAM for a 1 hour consultation with Brent. Brent was great. He spent 90 minutes with me. During which, I learned more about spousal support and how it pertained to the particulars of my case, than I did from Cojocar in 8 months. I was able to use what I learned from Brent to mitigate the damage. I’m completely convinced the $150 I paid to talk to Brent, saved me big $$. There’s a lot more feedback I could provide, none of it good. Do yourself a favor and pay up for an attorney that specializes in family law. Sorry Jeff, justify it however you want, it’s just what it was.

I am sorry you feel this way, “j t,” but these statements are untrue. In the 9+ months your case was ongoing, I reviewed and responded to over 150 emails, many of which contained PowerPoint documents and spreadsheets, and I had more than 30 phone calls with you, many of them longer than 30 minutes, so your insinuation that I “rarely discussed the specifics” of your case could not be more of a gross misrepresentation of the facts. Not one single email of yours went unanswered. Not one single phone call of yours was not returned. Your hang-up was inevitable spousal support, something I told you countless times I was willing to litigate and take to trial if you wanted me to. You were given alternative calculations under Michigan’s spousal support Guidelines and a very detailed letter laying out the case law factors that a court considers when ruling on spousal support. You were directed to a vocational expert as a resource to discredit your ex-wife’s arguments, which we talked about dozens and dozens of times. I am astonished that you claimed to be “completely on my own,” as I offered multiple times to take whatever path you wanted, including litigating the case to vigorously pursue your positions at a contested trial. You voluntarily chose the resolution after numerous discussions with me, where you understood all the available options. You testified under oath that the final terms were things you voluntarily agreed to, understanding your waiver of trial rights and confirming that you were satisfied with my services.

Your review is unfortunate, as it is nowhere close to accurately reflecting what took place during my representation in your divorce. In all honesty, I don’t believe you would have been happy with any resolution reached in your case, as you are upset at your ex-wife’s decisions and are taking it out on my firm, which had absolutely no control over what she chose to do.

I cannot say enough positive things about Jeff and his staff. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional in all aspects. Communication is excellent and timely. Extremely helpful, considering I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and live out of state, in making sure everything went flawlessly. If I am ever in need so attorney again in Michigan he is definitely my top choice. Thank you for everything you did.

I asked this person what this was gonna cost me, and how can we get started. He said I don't know, let me look over your binders and I will you know what I can do for you. Just call the office before you drop them off and I will let you know after I review everything where we are at. The secretary was rude and had no knowledge of me when I call. I drop the binders, which by the way his office is over 30 mins from me. He calls an hour later and says, yeah its $600 for me to even look at this so you can venmo me. I asked you before i even drove out there how much, and you want $600 to even look at the material? When I already asked you this information? And you will decide if you can help me or not? It's not a cost issue, you could have pretended to care. And you came referred from a friend of a friend. This is very sad.

In self-preservation I "dismissed" two different price-gouging attorneys before finding Jeff. First thing - Jeff actually cared about me, and his fees were actually fair. I paid the other 2 attorneys $10,000 each for doing nothing except showing up for one hearing each. Worse yet, I knew I was doomed if I didn't find the right attorney. Fast forward, I plead no-contest to avoid a trial and possible civil suit by a psychotic relative who physically attacked me and then to cover it up and for other evil reasons had me charged with the criminal conduct they perpetrated on me. If it weren't for Jeff I could have easily been a sad statistic, wrongfully convicted, and ended up in prison. To top that off, I would have likely endured a civil suit which the no-contest plea shielded me from. Jeff also obtained an expungment for me, (now 7 years later) completely restoring my good name and reputation. The whole ordeal was deeply traumatizing, and even 7 years later I still suffer tinges of PTSD from it all. Jeff's solid presence and calm assurance was the one thing that helped me keep it together during all the uncertainty and anguish suffered by me and my dear wife. If I had to say one thing, it would be that Jeff truly cared about me, about people, about his clients. If I had one more thing to say, it would be that he went above and beyond expectations and always made me feel cared about. If I had one more thing to say, it would be that he was always there for me and always transparent and fair in his hourly fees that were incredibly detailed. And lastly, I admire him not just for his superb abilities (and likely high IQ) but also for his sense of balance and strength of character in an industry that tends to breed distrust, greed, and jadedness. He's not just a really strong shoulder to stabilize you, he's 100% capable, fair, and "there" for you. The only downside is that there's only one of him to go around, so if you're able to secure a spot, definitely don't delay, because he refuses to overbook, unlike my first 2 attorneys... Boy was I fortunate to find Jeff, in more ways than I can begin to say. Apologies for the lengthy referral Jeff. I actually had to shorten it!

I give Mr. Cojocar three stars because I didn't get a return call back and I had to call him back three times. Also, once we spoke it appeared I was being rushed off the telephone. I understand the telephone conversation is a free consultation. But, I didn't appreciate being rushed through my questions. I would seek out another landlord tenant court attorney due to those factors.
