If you were referred here through Top Dog Law, I would encourage you to carefully consider your options before retaining this firm. My experience has been marked by significant communication issues and delays. There were extended periods; sometimes weeks or even months; where phone calls, emails, and text messages went unanswered. At one point, I had to personally obtain my own medical records from the hospital because there was no apparent progress on the request. After the records were obtained, an $11 invoice was sent to the firm a few days later. It then took nearly four months for that invoice to be paid, which delayed the process further. In my experience, communication, client service, and case management have fallen well below my expectations. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm and would suggest exploring other options.

This law firm and its reviews are fake they literally tell you to make a review during the second month of signing with them ! It’s almost been 2 years with my case and my lawyer and paralegal has gone ghost do not hire these people go to akin law instead

Terrible garbage experience. Jake Ruby quit out of nowhere and I didn’t figure it out until a month later. No one told me, I guess I’m supposed to investigate? I was supposed to get paid out back in the beginning of March, it’s JUNE! Everything is supposed to be settled. Im not even sure what the problem is. I keep asking for an update and they keep repeating notes from months ago. Angel needs to be fired, flat out. He’s handling my case, but I can never speak to him. When asked about my case he said he thought it was payed out already?????? That doesn’t even make sense. I don’t even know who my lawyer is. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a dog.

I don’t recommend this company at all they will try to low ball you take money that don’t belong to them plus u never hear from them it’s hard to get in touch with anybody they switch lawyers and don’t tell you i would never recommend anyone to them i highly doubt them doing anything but trying to get your money it’s been almost a year and still trying to low ball me

Terrible. My attorney went no contact on my dog bite case. I've only spoken with him once via email correspondence. The incident was last year! I wish 0 stars was possible. I've lost money and time with no thanks to these scam artists.

After Tom Hyland left the firm, my case was handed to David Schwartz, and the experience has gone downhill. He does not answer calls or return messages. The firm has had my underinsured motorist settlement for over 2.5 months, yet I cannot get any answers about what’s happening. No one will tell me where my medical bills stand or when they will be paid. The lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.

I would not recommend Sobo & Sobo Law Firm based on my experience. My case has been open for about three years and still has not been resolved. During that time, I feel like there has been little to no progress, poor communication, and no real accountability. I was told my medical records could not be located, and the doctor’s office they recommended I go to is now closed. The doctor who performed my testing also appears to be unreachable, which has only made the situation worse. Over the years, I have had at least six different people contact me about my case, and each person seemed more unfamiliar with the situation than the last. Nobody has been able to clearly explain what happened, fix the issue, or move my case forward. After all this time, I have received no money, no physical therapy, and no real help. In my opinion, this firm was completely useless for my situation. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere before trusting them with your case.

I have been working with this firm for approximately three years, and during that time there has been no meaningful progress on my case. My file has been passed between four different attorneys, with no continuity, no accountability, and no clear communication regarding the status of my matter. I have consistently had to initiate follow-up on a monthly basis, yet I receive little to no substantive updates. My calls and emails are routinely ignored, and when I do receive a response, it is repetitive and does not move my case forward. This pattern of neglect has caused significant frustration and concern. It appears that my case is not being taken seriously, possibly because it is not considered a high-value matter. Regardless of the size of the case, I am entitled to competent representation, diligence, and timely communication. The level of service I have received falls far below professional standards. Due to the ongoing lack of responsiveness and failure to properly manage my case, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC). I have allowed more than sufficient time for this firm to address these issues, and no corrective action has been taken. Additionally, the manner in which my case has been handled raises serious concerns for me, including the possibility of biased or prejudicial treatment. While I cannot definitively determine intent, the consistent lack of responsiveness and disregard for my case warrants further review. At this point, I am requesting immediate action, including a full update on my case and a copy of my complete file. If this matter is not addressed promptly, I will proceed with my complaint and pursue alternative legal representation.

Worked with Sobo & Sobo after being rear ended on my motorcycle. Tom Hyland and his team repeatedly neglected my case leading to multiple dismissals, putting me at risk of losing my opportunity to recover anything. It took weeks of calling daily to get even a crumb of information about my case. They missed court dates, canceled scheduled calls with no notice, lost signed documents and case information multiple times. A paralegal assigned to my case quit, came back, and quit again in the middle of my case— and they didn’t feel the need to inform me. If you don’t have the bandwidth to handle a case, that should be communicated, instead of leaving me hanging and risking my case. Over a year with them, and the case was no further along than when we started. I retained a new attorney and they did more in 4 weeks than Tom’s team did in 12+ months.
