Without a doubt the rudest people I've ever dealt with. Stephanie is heartless. This company should be out of business. We called Southeast about them & the lady told us they receive daily complaints about them. We actually will never use Southeast again because we don't want to have to deal with this company. Stephanie needs to lose her job!!!!!!

This law firm is a racket. They are sending fraudulent bills to ppl stating that they owe money they had already paid. DO NOT TRUST THESE THIEVES.

Very unprofessional , rude is an understatement! Stephanie was very snobby and didn’t have any type of customer service skills , all about the money. It’s amazing what some people take for granted, the lord needs to humble the people at this place !

Horrible people. One of the people there Amy, called me stupid and hung up on me just because I had a question about my money. She was the most rude unprofessional person I have ever talked to. I am a store manager I work with the public everyday and I have never talked to someone the way she spoke to me. Very rude don't go there.

We were contacted by this firm regarding an alleged medical debt they claimed my wife owed. I requested formal validation of the debt and asked that it be sent to our current address, which was eventually provided. Unfortunately, each interaction with this firm has been adversarial and unproductive. The representative I spoke with was dismissive and unwilling to discuss details in a way that would allow me to better understand how or why this debt exists. The documentation we received consisted of three items, only one of which was itemized, and the other two documents had the account number redacted. The billing codes listed were significantly higher than Medicaid rates and higher than the public self-pay estimates published by the hospital itself. At the time my wife received care, she may have been eligible for Medicaid or charity care, yet no assistance options were offered by the nonprofit hospital involved. Like many people experiencing a medical crisis, she was required to sign financial responsibility paperwork simply to receive care—without clear information about insurance billing or available financial assistance. Many patients in these circumstances are unaware of assistance programs or lack the resources to advocate for themselves. This unresolved medical debt has caused severe financial distress for my family. After years of rebuilding our lives and caring for a child with a disability, we are now facing the possibility of bankruptcy over a bill we have repeatedly attempted to validate and understand. When I contacted the firm again to discuss what appear to be discrepancies in the billing, I was met with the same lack of cooperation. I was told that the invoice reflecting the higher amount was a “settlement figure,” which differed from what I had been told previously. There was no willingness to review the charges, explain additional fees, or discuss resolution. Instead, the conversation focused on the statute of limitations and references to potential legal action, which felt intimidating given our financial circumstances. Based on my experience, this firm’s approach lacks transparency and places significant strain on individuals who are uninsured or financially vulnerable. South East Medical’s billing practices and its use of third-party debt collection warrant public scrutiny. I would strongly encourage anyone dealing with this firm to carefully document all communications and fully understand their rights before engaging.
