I just got out a trial in which Maher and Maher Law represented my medical practice. Joe got the ruling we wanted easily. It literally took 10 minutes. I was on edge, but he guided me in the process and it went exactly as he told me it would.
I am a physician and we had to file a restraining order on a not-yet-established-patient who threatened my staff and me because we would not prescribe a certain medication. I had never been in this situation and had no training at all on what to do. After it happened I called the cops who informed me of my options. I decided to file the restraining order to protect my business, staff, myself and my family. I wasted 1/2 a day at the courthouse getting a 2 week temporary restraining order in place. When I figured out the person had a fake address I didn't know what to do since the papers could not be served, which meant the temporary restraining order would do nothing. I called Joe. He hired a private investigator to find the individual, which they did in 24 hours. Papers were served within 48 hours and we had the permanent restraining order trial today, 2 weeks after the original one was filed. I wished I would have called Maher and Maher Law when it started. It pays to have the right people on your team and I would strongly recommend Joe and his firm. I can't stress how important it is to have good legal representation. This was my biggest takeaway from the experience.
Very impressed and will be telling my healthcare colleagues about my experience. EVERY physician should have legal representation for this type of situation. To give context I have had two colleagues who worked in medical clinics in similar scenarios: 1) a physician (surgeon) was shot and killed by a patient because they would not prescribe pain meds (Tulsa, OK), 2) a patient pulled a gun on a doctor who would not prescribe pain meds and the hospital police shot the patient and killed him (St. Louis, MO). These are the horror stories that are now a reality. It is unfortunate and disturbing that medicine has come to this. If you are a doctor or mid-level don't be naïve. Hire a good attorney and don't be afraid to call 911 for any suspicion. Protect yourself.

Hiring the Maher and Maher legal squad is hands down the best decision we have ever made. Very tragically, our daughter was killed in a birth injury accident at birth. Six months after she died, we got into a fight where the cops got involved and a case was made against my husband for domestic violence. The charges were very severe and were never what I wanted as the alleged victim. For months and months, I tried to get in touch with the DA, pleading with them to hear my voice and understand our grievous situation; but, they kept trying to push the narrative that I was just a recanting witness. The Mahers understood that our case was much more complicated than that, and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get the case dismissed before trial. This saved us so much heartache and trauma during what was already the most devastating season of our life.
We had originally hired an attorney that kept over promising and under delivering. The DA was relentless in pushing this case forward, despite the first attorney’s efforts. That is when we made the very wise decision to hire Joe and Kimberly. From there, our luck completely turned around. Not only did the DA decide to start listening to me, but it seems they might have been afraid—or simply intimidated—to go up against the Mahers in trial.
Being former prosecutors, they understand very well how the “other side” operates. For every meeting, they were impressively prepared, and I truly believe the DA knew the state simply didn’t stand a chance against this powerful husband and wife team. It has taken me a few days to try and get the words together to write this. To say Joe Maher and his team saved my life would be an understatement. October of 2021 changed my life forever. To say that Colorado Springs has overzealous law enforcement is such an understatement. As a tourist to this area, I was not prepared for my interaction with them. I have never been in a situation like this in my life and I cooperated with them completely--placing my trust in their intentions and authority was a mistake (but what else would a law-abiding citizen do?). I needed to hire a lawyer who could match this aggression to defend me against the "machine" that is both El Paso County and the State of Colorado. I hired Joe Maher who was more than up to the task. He and his staff guided me through the entire process and helped in ways that I didn't even know I would need in beginning. Joe is passionate about his role in defending people; he is an empathic listener and a most capable Champion for injustice and those who get swallowed-up in the System. I needed help, I was being charged with a DUI. It could have ruined everything I worked hard for. Mr. Maher and his team we’re very respectful and efficient in everything that went down. My son was seriously beaten downtown after he tried to help two women who were being chased by a group of thugs downtown. I got a dui in December of 2021 and was so overwhelmed and in shock that I didn’t know who to contact. I ended up contacting another lawyer and when speaking to him, I just didn’t feel confident with his tone of voice. I then got in contact with Joe and from the minute we spoke on the phone, I knew this was the person to take my case. He guided me throughout the whole process and answered any questions I had. It was a great experience working with Mr. Maher. I'm honestly still surprised at how great of a deal they secured for me after I was charged, and I'd definitely recommend this law firm to anyone seeking competent, honest legal defense counsel!
I just got out a trial in which Maher and Maher Law represented my medical practice. Joe got the ruling we wanted easily. It literally took 10 minutes. I was on edge, but he guided me in the process and it went exactly as he told me it would.
I am a physician and we had to file a restraining order on a not-yet-established-patient who threatened my staff and me because we would not prescribe a certain medication. I had never been in this situation and had no training at all on what to do. After it happened I called the cops who informed me of my options. I decided to file the restraining order to protect my business, staff, myself and my family. I wasted 1/2 a day at the courthouse getting a 2 week temporary restraining order in place. When I figured out the person had a fake address I didn't know what to do since the papers could not be served, which meant the temporary restraining order would do nothing. I called Joe. He hired a private investigator to find the individual, which they did in 24 hours. Papers were served within 48 hours and we had the permanent restraining order trial today, 2 weeks after the original one was filed. I wished I would have called Maher and Maher Law when it started. It pays to have the right people on your team and I would strongly recommend Joe and his firm. I can't stress how important it is to have good legal representation. This was my biggest takeaway from the experience.
Very impressed and will be telling my healthcare colleagues about my experience. EVERY physician should have legal representation for this type of situation. To give context I have had two colleagues who worked in medical clinics in similar scenarios: 1) a physician (surgeon) was shot and killed by a patient because they would not prescribe pain meds (Tulsa, OK), 2) a patient pulled a gun on a doctor who would not prescribe pain meds and the hospital police shot the patient and killed him (St. Louis, MO). These are the horror stories that are now a reality. It is unfortunate and disturbing that medicine has come to this. If you are a doctor or mid-level don't be naïve. Hire a good attorney and don't be afraid to call 911 for any suspicion. Protect yourself.

I was at peace with this mindset until speaking with Joe.
For years I have had a lingering express consent hearing over my head and after one conversation with Joe, I decided to put my trust in this firm.
Joe asked questions and exhibited a knowledge of the system that I’ve never encountered in years of taking case assessment/evaluation calls. The level & amount of strategies Joe put forth were beyond satisfactory and the firm’s prompt communication lets one sleep easily.

Joe Maher is the most professional, and knowledgeable attorney I've had the pleasure of doing business with. I originally retained a different attorney for my DUI case, and she wasn't going to allow me to attend the Department of Revenue hearing. After speaking with Joe, I learned the DOR hearing is one of the most important pieces to a DUI case. I believe it's crucial to listen in on that hearing, and have adequate counsel representing you. Additionally, Joe was able find details from my arrest that significantly lessened my sentence. I'm certainly not proud of my mistake, nor am I advocating impaired driving. However, I'm forever thankful I found someone to help me keep my license and stay out of jail. I am able to continue driving myself to work, and have learned a valuable lesson in the process. Maher & Maher handled my case with the upmost kindness, professionalism and care. This was my first experience with hiring a lawyer and with being in trouble with the law. I was confused, terrified and extremely anxious of the unknown.
I had suffered an extreme hypoglycemic episode,(Type 1 diabetic) when my insulin sensor failed and didn’t alert me of my blood sugar plummeting to 40 (70 is considered low) while driving. With an inexperienced officer not realizing that these hypoglycemic symptoms greatly mirrored those of someone intoxicated, he charged me with a DUI.
Mr. Maher did an excellent job in acquiring all the facts and information to present to the DA to show this was the case. Everything was done in a timely manner and I was given any and all information I needed in the process. He went above and beyond in every aspect and either he or his office staff were only a phone call or text away to answer any questions I had. They helped put my mind and body at ease numerous times. Even being so far away (from Douglas County to Jefferson County) I felt they were by my side every step of the way.

Joe and Kim helped my 86 year old Father out of some pretty hot water with a full dismissal of the case. The State of Colorado made the whole ordeal last 6 months but in the end the result was exactly as predicted.
Both Joe and Kim communicated well and were always available to advise and answer questions. I can not say enough about how well they helped me handle a very trying time.

I just wanted to say that Joe Maher from Maher & Maher was above and beyond what I expected. He walked me through everything that was going to happen with my DUI case. I am a VET and was going to go through VTC, but after talking with MR. Joe, I felt better about going through normal. He told me what to expect and help me sign up for everything that the judge was more than likely going to order. He answered every question I had.By the time I had court, I had finished almost everything but the DUI therapy classes. I want to thank Joe and Kimberly for giving me my Life back. I was charged with Vehicular Homicide in an accident involving a pedestrian on Garden of the Gods Road on August 31, 2020. I was going under the speed limit and had the green light with the pedestrian being out of the crosswalk. I blew 0 on the Breathalyzer and the toxicology test which came back 8 weeks later showed no DUI. But I was charged by the DUI officer based on the road sobriety test which was done incorrectly. I was referred to Joe and Kimberly by one of their previous clients and it was the best move I have ever made. From our first meeting I knew that they were great people and that I had a terrific team on my side. Of course I was very upset and terrified but they were always there for me believing in my innocence and that the truth would prevail. They worked diligently behind the scenes and always were there when I needed to talk. Hiring the Maher and Maher legal squad is hands down the best decision we have ever made. Very tragically, our daughter was killed in a birth injury accident at birth. Six months after she died, we got into a fight where the cops got involved and a case was made against my husband for domestic violence. The charges were very severe and were never what I wanted as the alleged victim. For months and months, I tried to get in touch with the DA, pleading with them to hear my voice and understand our grievous situation; but, they kept trying to push the narrative that I was just a recanting witness. The Mahers understood that our case was much more complicated than that, and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get the case dismissed before trial. This saved us so much heartache and trauma during what was already the most devastating season of our life.
We had originally hired an attorney that kept over promising and under delivering. The DA was relentless in pushing this case forward, despite the first attorney’s efforts. That is when we made the very wise decision to hire Joe and Kimberly. From there, our luck completely turned around. Not only did the DA decide to start listening to me, but it seems they might have been afraid—or simply intimidated—to go up against the Mahers in trial.
Being former prosecutors, they understand very well how the “other side” operates. For every meeting, they were impressively prepared, and I truly believe the DA knew the state simply didn’t stand a chance against this powerful husband and wife team. After Joe and Kimberly reviewed the discovery file, they started to find the inconsistencies in the case, and were very confident that they could win, communicating with us and the DA every step of the way. This confidence however, never led to a lack of preparation. Their creative, intelligent, and thorough approach is unmatched in the industry. I had a minor accident during a major snow storm. When the police arrived I was sited with a DUI. I made some poor decisions during the incident BUT the best decision I made was calling Maher and Maher. I thought I had a great case and a great defense.
