I hired John back in 2018 to handle a case for me. I continued to pay as needed ( several thousands of dollars). This past December 2022 we we’re finally ready to go to trial. He sent emails letting me know when my trial date was. The following week I get an email stating that he had canceled my trial because he didn’t think we would win and all of the other persons lawyers had quit on her. She also moved to a different state (as if that had anything to do with me). He did contact the other party and said he could make it go away if she signed off on it. John also filed “with prejudice” meaning no other lawyer can ever file against the other party. When my wife (who is an estate lawyer) told John what he did was illegal, he said “well we both know it was but I thought it was the best thing to do”. We then asked would we get any money back and he said “No”. I truly think John has a great practice if you’re looking from a crooks prospective. That is: get as much money as he can from his client, then cancel the case right before trial, keep all the client’s money and do the same to the next client. I spoke to John last week and asked him to produce all my receipts on how much I paid him. He provided me the wrong number, which was also an estimate. I told him he had a week to do the right thing or I was filing a Bar Complaint. The Bar doesn’t tolerate lawyers like him. They will ask for far more than I’m asking for. I will be filing a complaint on Monday morning along with retaining another lawyer. At that point I’ll be asking for the same damages as I was asking for before he canceled my trail. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY. I’m sure he does this with a lot of his clients. To be honest, the only reason I retained him was because my brother-in-law suggested him. After mentioning this to my brother-in-law, well he was very disappointed and shocked. Again, I will be filing a complaint with the Bar and anyone who has been done wronged by John McArthur now know your rights. Prior to becoming a lawyer you must get sworn in under oath that you will protect your client. John did the opposite. One ⭐️ is actually being generous.

Mr. McArthur is not the type of lawyer that will communicate what he has planned, but he knows what he's doing and what is best for the defendant. He was recommended to me for my son's case, and I could not have hired a better lawyer. He was able to drop 2 murder charges, and he negotiated the best deal we could have hoped for my son. I will be forever grateful. God bless you, Mr. McArthur.

Without a single promise, he did a great job. Eternally grateful to Mr. McArthur.

Great representation for a family member. Got 2 out of 5 charges dropped. We are extremely pleased with Mr. McArthur and the outcome of the case!

I recommend John to all my friends and family. I was wrongfully accused of battery and he had it dismissed first thing in a crowded court hearing.

Met with john brought in my arrest report.he said $500.00 he can get it dismissed.all i can say is be careful with bait/switch ,a week before trial he said he needed $1000.00 my results were 6 months probation $250 and $500 fine .I’ll leave it up to you if you want to use him .my charge was reckless conduct .

Me and my mother hired MacArthur with confidence now it has been a disaster he was going to handle one of my cases in a divorce I cannot get any answers out of him. He's been prolonging my case, hard to contact, and very unprofessional. I will do an update on how the case turned out but as of now I am very disappointed it's been a waste of time, money, and very stressful. Hopefully he'll pull through on my case, but as of now I wouldn't suggest to hire him!

So.... Where do i even begin..... Back in July 2018 I had some 30 yr old man break into my house and I took matter into my own hands and looked out for my family and property... Nonetheless Clarke County was not to fond of this so they threw 5 charges at me 1 felony.... I contacted Mr. Mcarthur for representation. Very professional gentlemen.. In the beginning it was very difficult to get in touch with him... But I was very persistent.. Finally we got on the same page.. 3 of the 5 charges were dropped. John Mcarthur DID EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO DO!!! Man to man.. Man to women... Mr. Mcarthur is the real deal and if you need any legal assitance don't hesitate to contact him.

William "Bill" McArthur was completely dishonest throughout the entire time. Not only was he hard to contact after I paid him, but he was not honest about any of the things that we had privately discussed concerning my case. I was totally caught off guard, because I truly believed that as my lawyer, William Overend would be the last person to lie to me. Trust me when I say that this man does not care about whatever situation that you or your loved one is going through, and that he's all about the money.
