I can't recommend Mr. Cordova highly enough. When I first came to him, I was facing the worst moment of my life—serious criminal charges and a custody case, both hitting at the same time. My daughter was four years old, and we had been separated. From the get-go, Mr. Cordova understood that reunification with my daughter had to come first. Getting her back required me to prove I was a fit parent by going through various programs and rehabilitation. But all that could only begin by demonstrating accountability for my actions, which meant outright admissions to various wrongdoings in the case—making the criminal case harder to defend. Most attorneys would have seen this as a conflict. Mr. Cordova saw it as a sequencing problem and helped me navigate it with patience and a steady hand. For two years, we fought to reunify our family. And we did. My daughter is now six, and she's home with me. Only after that battle was won could we finally turn our focus to the criminal matter. But unfortunately, and not by choice, I handed Mr. Cordova even more hurdles: immigration considerations that severely limited our options in the plea bargaining. In the end, short of an outright dismissal—which just wasn't going to happen—Mr. Cordova delivered the best possible outcome.
