I am beyond thankful that I found and worked with Stephanie of SBBL Law. I went through an incredibly difficult school situation involving a Title IX complaint against my son. From the very beginning, I felt scared, overwhelmed, and unsure of where to turn. I consulted with multiple attorneys and ultimately decided to work with Stephanie and SBBL Law. This was undoubtedly the right choice.
From our first conversation, Stephanie was kind, patient, and understanding. She explained every step of the process clearly, advocated fiercely for fairness and accountability, and ensured that my son’s rights were fully protected.
What meant the most to me was how much Stephanie cared — not just about the case, but about my son and his child’s well-being. My son struggles with mental illness, and Stephanie handled this perfectly. She was always available, always compassionate, and never made us feel like just another client. Because of Stephanie's hard work, expertise, and dedication, we finally found peace and closure after a very painful experience.

This is the defense you NEED!
I was charged with two capitol offenses. At risk of never seeing my family outside of a prison visiting room again. After finding ourselves faced with this overwhelming trial in life, God led us to SBBL Law the whole team never missed a beat.
Specifically Heath and Sarah Lynch. The team worked so hard with my wife and I to get the facts for which I am very grateful. From the beginning their experience and honesty showed results. When you're in your worst situation I would call on this firm. Ms. Hamilton was intelligent, sympathetic and honest. She explained things to me, kept me updated as things happened. When it comes to your Defense you have to understand you get what you pay for. When you get the service of this firm you are paying a TOP TIER. If you are a LEO this is the firm you want.

First off I am not a client nor would I like to be a client. But if I ever needed a defense team I would definitely choose your firm. I watched your defense team handle a case recently against a GRPD officer that should have never been charged in the first place. The SOS was giving me trouble renewing my license due to a past DUI. Mike Bartish and Chastity Green made just a couple calls and my issues were completely cleared up. I would not have a drivers license with out SBBL's help. Highly recommend for DUI OWI type offenses. I would refer them to all and would use them in the future, but hopefully will not need it!

Our family retained the services of Michael Bartish at SBBL Law firm in the fall of 2025.
A family member was falsely accused of rape by a bitter ex wife. Michael and his legal assistant Allyson were extremely professional and yet personal. From the very first meeting they treated us with care and respect in a difficult and stressful situation.
The criminal case was dismissed during the preliminary hearing because Michael proved to the judge that the ex wife was lying while she was on the stand.
We were very thankful for the assistance of Michael Bartish and would highly recommend him as a criminal justice attorney.
Heath took my case to trial for a hefty sum of money and was unsuccessful. That's just how it goes.
However, a moderately valuable amount of possessions were unlawfully seized. Heath supposedly worked with the prosecutor a transfer of the items to a third party to consign so that I may receive the funds for their liquidation.
Now that I have served my time I followed up with SBBL to enquire on the matter, but I have been ignored and spun for months with lackluster excuses.
I've patiently waited half a year with regular follow-ups, but they just ignore.
The firm is more than willing to accept your money, but will not help you one bit when it comes to money that is supposed to be headed your way.
Very disappointed at the lack of communication.
Tessa is an exceptional Title IX defense attorney, and our family is profoundly grateful for her representation. She successfully got our child’s Title IX case dropped with one of Kent County’s public schools, but her impact went far beyond the outcome. From the moment we contacted her, Tessa demonstrated compassion, remarkable expertise, and a level of skill that immediately put us at ease during an incredibly painful and chaotic time.
Her knowledge of Title IX processes is extensive, and her ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively with the multiple parties involved was excellent. Throughout the process she presented things in a way that built trust and confidence. She was always responsive, thoughtful, and consistently one step ahead.
Hiring Tessa was unquestionably the right decision. She not only protected our child’s rights but also guided our family with empathy and unwavering professionalism. The staff at SBBL is also wonderful! Professional, compassionate, and highly responsive!
We cannot recommend Tessa highly enough. She is truly exceptional at what she does.
