I called them with a simple question about one of their trustee sales and the person on the phone was extremely rood and hung up on me. Terrible customer service.
Owner response
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to share it. That said, we take these concerns seriously and do not tolerate rude or unprofessional behavior from our team — nor do we condone mischaracterizations.
Trustee sales are governed by strict legal procedures, and while we aim to be as helpful as possible, we are limited in the information we can provide over the phone. For privacy and compliance reasons, we cannot offer legal advice or interpret sale terms beyond what is publicly posted. We understand this can be frustrating, but we ask that all inquiries be made respectfully so we can assist within those boundaries.
If you believe there was a misunderstanding, we’re happy to clarify and ensure you have access to the correct public information.

Mitch Brooks and Diana Olmedo have been handling my case and they’ve been fantastic, taking great care and detail to my needs. Family law can be so emotional in nature and they’ve been extremely professional and patient throughout. 10/10 recommend them both 🙏🏼
Owner response
Thanks for the review, Jess! We're glad you feel that Mitch and Diana are professional and patient.

I recommend Mitchell Brooks every chance I get. I have a very litigious ex who has occupied (to the best of his ability and as his pocketbook allows) for nearly 15 years. It has been exhausting. I know many women in similar situations and they cannot believe the success I have managed to have due, in large part, to Mitch's efforts. He's been a life-saver!
Owner response
Thanks Maria! We really appreciate your thoughtful review.

Updated Review (1 Star — I wish I could leave a negative rating): I previously left a 5-star review for this firm based on positive experiences with their business attorneys. That trust has now been completely broken. I had used three attorneys from this firm for my business over the years, sharing extensive confidential information about myself and my company. Despite this, the firm allowed Mitch Brooks (a partner who absolutely knew better) and Dianna Olmedo to represent my soon-to-be ex-spouse in our divorce—creating a direct and serious conflict of interest. They were fully aware of the conflict but still went ahead and filed two legal documents on her behalf. My ex has used this firm for over 16 years in ongoing legal battles, and instead of helping her resolve the situation, they continue to take her money while dragging out the divorce. Their blatant disregard for legal ethics and professional responsibility has caused me immense financial and emotional harm. If you're looking for a law firm with integrity, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
Owner response
We would like to clarify a few facts. First, one attorney at our firm previously represented this person's business, not him personally. That attorney is no longer with our firm and we have not reviewed any work he did for the business. Second, we reviewed the matter and we did not have a conflict of interest. This person's soon to be ex-wife contacted us up against a deadline, we filed a quick answer to his divorce petition so that there wouldn't be a default, and then withdrew. We did this out of an abundance of caution and again with no conflict of interest. We recommended she seek other counsel at that time. Third, courts generally don't prefer to handle divorce matters by defaults so our action can be viewed as marginal at best. Courts prefer to handle matters on the merits and that should be the case with all divorces. Finally, we do not drag out divorces and needlessly take money. By their very nature, court cases sometimes take a significant amount of time. We have not disregarded legal ethics nor professional responsibility and we disagree with the story told here. We maintain that we always exercise the highest degree of ethics and professionalism.

Can't speak for their actual work as attorneys but came away very unimpressed after several interactions. No returned phone calls or emails for long stretches, then when following up, the paralegal will only arrange a paid consultation and gives rates for a fairly mediocre credentialed/experienced lawyer priced at $475/hr. This after getting much better responsiveness from more elite law firms in town, where attorneys actually get on the phone. Can't imagine ever calling these guys again.
Owner response
It's unfortunate that you feel that way. We strongly disagree with your assessment of our firm but wish you good luck going forward.

I cannot recommend Marlon Bates highly enough. He is truly one of the few genuine and compassionate attorneys still out there. From the beginning, it was clear that he cares deeply about people—not just cases. He isn’t driven by billable hours or financial gain, but by a real desire to help and make a meaningful difference. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, with a strong reputation and respected presence in the Utah legal community. His credentials and experience speak for themselves and he is well-regarded by his peers. What stood out most to me was how approachable and personable he is. He truly listened, never dismissed my concerns, and always gave me his time—even when I knew he had a busy schedule. I never felt rushed and always felt heard. He is a true advocate for truth and justice and it’s rare to find someone in this profession with such integrity and heart.
Owner response
Thanks Victoria! We really appreciate your thoughtful review about Marlon and our firm.

I am so glad I chose Dan Spencer as my divorce lawyer. He helped me negotiate through my divorce quickly and carefully. He was very fair and kept in mind that I did not want to drag things out unnecessarily. I felt I could trust his judgment on when to fight for something and when to concede when fighting would be more expensive (in legal fees) than what I could gain. He was pleasant to speak with and extremely detailed and thorough. I enjoyed the downtime in mediation speaking with him about the psychology of negotiation tactics, and I was very glad I had Dan on my side.
Owner response
Thank you for your review, Erica! We really appreciate your thoughtful words regarding Dan.

We recently had an initial consultation phone call with Marlon Bates, and Marlon spent about 40 minutes patiently answering all of our real estate questions. What really stood out to us was that, even though we came into the conversation thinking we knew what we wanted to do, Marlon talked us out of it by giving us honest, thoughtful advice that genuinely put our best interests first instead of trying to convince us to use his services. He carefully weighed out all the pros and cons and even provided alternative solutions that might better fit our needs. It’s clear that Marlon genuinely cares about his clients and is more interested in helping them make the right decision than just securing business. If you’re looking for a real estate lawyer who will give you honest, expert guidance without any pressure, Marlon Bates is the person to call!
Owner response
Thanks for the review! We're glad you found the consultation with Marlon to be so helpful.

I paid their $300 “consultation” fee and was told I have a GREAT case, but had to pay $10,000 for a retainer. I explained that it may take a few months to come up with and was told “No problem”. $10,000 isn’t easy to scratch up, but once I finally did, they told me they didn’t have anyone for my case. Is this place just scamming people? Recommend you play it safe and avoid this firm.
Owner response
Trent - we strongly disagree with both your prior review and your new amended review. You spent more than an hour with one of our attorneys discussing your case, options, and the applicable law back in 2023. It has been significantly more than "a few months." We have a number of litigators but they currently are at capacity with the number of cases they currently have. We offered to refer you to other firms with litigators that may have some availability. Instead of taking us up on this, you were rude, combative, and then you hung up.

I had a great conversation over the phone with Joseph. He provided me with great information about my legal case. He was very knowledgeable, professional and easy to talk to. I definitely plan on using Joseph going forward.
Owner response
Thanks Dan! We appreciate the review and we're glad your call with Joseph was helpful.
